First Nats game was Padres-Nats at RFK in 2006, before I moved here. Mgo was there.
Went to 20-25 Nats games from 08-11 when I lived in SW DC and could go to games for $5. Some really shitty teams but all that mattered was watching games and sitting in the lower bowl as close to first base as possible for $5.
Don't go to many games anymore but watch plenty of games on DC.
Anyone remember the threat where Smackie dissed the Nats? Bwaha.

Yeah, absolutely horrible game management. No excuse to not have Cole ready. And I would have stayed with Greinke also. He was absolutely dominant. His pitch count was low. He throws one shitty changeup, then walks a guy. BFD.

I'm happy for Screwy but won't congratulate him since he didn't contribute anything to the team that won the WS, just as I wouldn't expect to be congratulated if LA had won. I wanted the Nats to win after they beat the Dodgers in the NLCS and am happy for DC and Nats fans everywhere. Great series, Hollywood-type storylines, and simply a case of a team getting hot at the right time of the year. Martinez managed the team well, and while Hinch will catch flak for his decisions, he didn't do a bad job. No way should any manager have put Cole in during the middle of an inning, and Greinke had already gone longer than most people expected. He pitched a helluva game. Hinch going to Harris turned out to be a mistake, but hey - that's baseball.
I went to several Nats games when I lived in the DC area and it's an excellent ballpark. While the Dodgers will always be my favorite team, I'm also a Nats fan. Watched many of their games on TV when I lived out there, and think F.P. Santangelo is an outstanding color commentator - deadpan delivery with a great sense of humor and deep knowledge of the game's intricacies. Bob Carpenter is a decent play-by-play announcer; certainly no Vin Scully, but better than douchebags like John Sterling.
Congrats to the Nats! No one had them pegged to win it all the season after losing Harper. Hope the Dodgers can snag both Rendon & Cole as free agents, but ain't holding my breath.

So, I take it you are one of those that cringe when one uses the pronoun "we" when referencing the team you support? I fukking hate that. If you aren't on the roster, "they" is the word you are looking for.
As for not going to Cole in the middle of an inning, why not? Is it that starters can't just walk up to the mound and throw? He was already warm. Does a middle of the inning reliever get to throw any warmups?
I thought they should have let Greinke stay in. He was absolutely dominant. It was the 7th inning, but his pitch count was still very low.
He hung one changeup and dude made him pay. Then he walked a guy. I believe his second of the night. It is not as if he was getting hammered. He might have very well settled back into his grove and continued what was looking to be one of the great all time pitching performances in series history.
What sucked for Harris is that the pitch he got taken out of the yard on was actually a pretty good pitch. It was low outside corner. Prolly right where he was aiming.
