If you borrow money to buy a house, of course the company can make you buy insurance as part of the contract. Once you own the house if you want to buy insurance go ahead.
If you want to hire an attorney that doesn't have Malpractice insurance you should be able to.
Same with a Doctor's malpractice insurance.
Insurance is to protect from things that may or may not happen. It's not for things that are almost guaranteed to happen like needing to go to a Dr.
The whole whole system is fucked up and has been since employers became the main source for paying for (the ins that pays for) health care expenses.
It's a stupid system and should be blown up.

Truman, of course I am ideologically aligned with Rand Paul much more so than those on the left.
He is seeking free market solutions -- and it seems to me that such is called for due to our constitution.

I would also give him some credit for appearing genuine in trying to find compromise on the issue.

That is an interesting take on malpractice coming from an attorney. Attorneys are a huge part of the reason our health care cost are so high. Drs pay a huge portion of their take for malpractice insurance premiums. Drs are sued for things that are hardly their fault, but lawyers have no problem bringing frivolous suits against doctors to line their pockets. As such Drs now often order tests that aren't needed but they schedule just to cover their ass against a malpractice suit.

That is because so many Attorneys are greedy pieces of shit.
It also has nothing to do with health insurance which is a stupid way to pay for health care.

The USC has nothing to do with what kind of economy we have.

You couldn't be more patently stupid if you tried. Please tell me that you're not this fucking retarded in real life. Do your clients hate you as much as we do?

For profit Insurance companies are designed and built to maximize their profit. This means they are in the business of taking in as much money as they can and doling out as little as possible. It's a stupid way to fund a health care system and no about of you obssesing over my body or my client's needs is going to change that.

Don't think anyone would argue with that, and in a free market capitalist system, it's what would be expected. Owners/shareholders are in the game to maximize profits, and competition would be the check to keep premiums low and service high. In theory, anyway.
It's a stupid way to fund a health care system
Assuming you're right for the reasons stated (everyone needs health care, unscrupulous lawyers and insurance companies, etc.), what does your ideal model for funding health care look like?

Seems like a good one based on what little I learned about it. Universal state coverage with options available for private coverage, highly rated quality. Are doctors required to buy malpractice insurance?

So, a group of 27K people can coble together a healthcare system you approve of. You live in a town bigger than that. How about you run for local office on a platform promising to start a municipal healthcare system on the San Marino model?

So, lets see if I have this right?

You think that a country of 300+ millions, can just scale up a system used in some itsy bitsy Kingdom the size of a small town that draws in more than its fair share of wealthy folks looking to escape confiscatory taxes in the surrounding socialist paradises?

Sorry 88, but I don't think there is a word for the level of brain function we are talking about here. I am no where close to being a good enough wordsmith to invent one. And most of out board wordsmiths are either dead or very infrequent visitors. I am fb friends with Nish. He's pertty good with the English language. Maybe he could come up with something worthy of this level of brain function, or lack there of.

You're not one who should ever crow about brain function, mr. tanglewire.

That said, MS would do well to explain himself on this point that you raised...

Hopefully it can be done without any orange head or black cock references.

Pop,
I picked San Marino on purpose looking for the exact response I got. The point is health care should be like security, the gov should do the heavy lifting with people given the ability to supplement it if they want/can.

Shitmick,
You should fight them.

Okay...

1. What does "heavy lifting" encompass?

2. Government = other people's money, right? I mean, we don't all pay in the same amount to the gov.

What pop said. What exactly do you mean? And why not do it on a more local level? If the model works with 27,000 patients, we ought to consider trying it at the county level.

If by heavy lifting, you mean having a system in place to handle very expensive and/or cronic conditions, I think that could work. What will not work is all you can eat healthcare paid for by a "single payer". Such a system HAS to have rationing and it is wasteful because of the extensive measures that must be taken (and they still fail) to fight fraud.

I know it is difficult for you, but try anyway to actually take part in a discussion here that does not involve balck cock sucking or telling us how disturbed you are with our obsession over your diminutive stature.

You have some anger issues.

About 95% of your posts will have any of these words...cock, suck, orange, dick, sucking, black. Then you complain people are obsessing over your body. Why would anyone do that? Seriously? Most people on this forum would like to beat the fuck out of you because of the warp things you post but in reality I don't think they will.

Being a lawyer one would think your vocabulary/posts would be more classy instead of sounding like a drunk being cornered by bullies and thinking you can take them all on.
