what a tempest in a teapot this story is. BFD, 48-1/2 of 50 states don't give a shit what happens in Jersey or about Christie.

the real story is the liberal media feeding frenzy, momentarily distracted from defending Obama's latest clusterfuck and zeroed in on this like it was the biggest scoop since Watergate.

And the liberal media is in fact pimping Christie big time as the " Republican front runner". If they can convince the voting lemmings that Christie is the R's boy, no matter who the Demorats put up. they will be elected big time. Republicans will not say jack shit about Christie, the media wants to crown his ass as the conservatives boy.

Oh of course it is, not the fact it's big gov't run amok, as you social conservatives love to cry about.

Don't you ever tire of being so fucking stupid?

Why should any of us care if Christy is DONE as a Presidential hopeful or not?

Really, why??

And beyond that, it's not as if he is THE savior of the GOP, or anything remotely close to that.

He's just another power-hungry lard ass.

Believe me, they can easily find someone else just like him to prop up before 2016.

Hello, Jeb!!

Flush him.
Don't flush him.
WGF?

Any importance assigned to him is fueled by the media, who are to be laffed at.

I personally couldn't give half a shit about him -- and laff some more at anyone dull enough to actually place a vote for him.

Or the Joker-in-drag who was her immediate predecessor.

Or her mother-in-law, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Wilford Brimley.

In this thread? I'm seeing comments more along the lines of, "At least he's taking responsibility," and "He's not a real Republican, anyway."

Color me unimpressed.
You ever noticed how if a Democrat fucks up, that lieberals will suck their dicks - even if they'd killed their own families?
I can't speak for anyone else, but on this board, I see my role as being equal time. No need to jump onboard the right wing echo chamber -- you guys do a bang-up job of covering that.

And if there's ever been a politically prominent Democrat who killed his/her own family, I must've missed that.

While it wasn't quite that simplistic, she still should have won.

But as bad as that makes her look, it makes the repugnanticans look even more pathetic in that they can't field a candidate to beat her. Instead of calling out how crappy the democratic side looks they should be looking in the mirror & at the wants/needs of the American people.

But instead of doing just that repugnantcans will continue to see how much further to the right they can go than their own party's candidates. Which makes their canonization of Reagan all that much more hilarious. Reagan would never get a sniff at being nominated these days, and no repugnantcan candidates will ever find a sliver of popularity among American voters near the size of what Reagan enjoyed.

By all means, repugnantcans...continue your self-destruction.

Since Reagan, all the GOP has trotted out is squishy moderates.

GH Bush
Bob Dole
GW Bush
John McCain
Mitt Romney

I have no idea where this "The GOP keeps getting more conservative" jive comes from.

What's known at this point is that America is sick to death of a huge government teacher's lounge asshat.

Seen approval ratings lately?

Liberalism fail.

A turn in the opposite direction would probably sell pretty good right about now.

Only if one totally ignores the approval ratings of Congress, which was at 13% last month. But by all means, campaign for an extremist right-wing platform again.

Congress is full of liberals and moderates.
Very few genuine conservatives there.

Not going along with Barry hardly make one an extreme conservative.
It merely means that one is not suffering from psychosis.

How does it compare to today? It doesn't.

And BTW -- if the D's run Hillary (they won't), the R's could prop up Saddam Hussein's dead body behind the podium and win in a landslide.

Hillary is unelectable. Hell, she quit her job when the going got tough (as it should have). And that whole being caught in an outright lie thing (then quitting her job to avoid the consequences) will remove any chance she has.

The D's have been pretty wise about candidates in recent years, so I don't see them making an error of that caliber. If they do, it guarantees that any R will win.

I'd have to agree that the majority of Americans don't want Hilary. But the republicans are remaining their delusional selves if they think they can just prop up a warm body to win. As much as Americans don't want her, they certainly don't want to a return to the republicans' march towards feudalism. The need to find someone moderate, but the GOP will never nominate a moderate (recent history proves this).

Unfortunately it looks like we're stuck with Hilary in 2016.

Who else with a decent head on their shoulders would want the shit sandwich known as the GOP nomination? You are either so far right you're unelectable or you're moderate enough to attract undecided voters and blue dog democrats and you're slandered as a RINO. Maybe when the GOP decides it would rather focus on winning elections than purity tests will they find a candidate who can win the White House.

I really have no idea where you guys are coming up with this silliness.

For a couple decades, the GOP strategy has been to nominate candidates who are moderate.
Candidates who they think are "moderate enough to win a general election."

Romney and McCain being the latest losers.

I happen to think success is popular.

Reagan was further right than a lot of the country was comfortable with, and especially further right than the media was comfortable with, but on the heels of liberal Carter debacle, voters opted to give the righty a shot at it.

As it went along, Reagan gained respect among the left and even saw his average approval rating rise higher in his 2nd four years than in his first four years -- because he found SUCCESS, and the people of the nation could not deny it.

Liberalism is a fairy tale.
A children's story.
That is painfully obvious now, isn't it?
