Without googling it I'll assume my correct answer is yep, it's time for our annual sig bet...and Jim Mora still looks like a constipated weasel. Anyway, hell, you may even win one this time.

And I'm going to hold you to the fifty posts in Swahili thing if you lose.

P.S. - After going to the translater, you sorta sound like Manute Bol there.

Bet you'd take Mora for Kiffey straight up right now....

 on Manute Bol reference. Spot on.

Looks as if we're in for an actual game this year assuming UCLA's defense can contain #9.

Sidesigbet? S.O. Notre Dame vs. Bellflower St. John Bosco?

Update your spreadsheets, stalkers.

You'd lose that bet. The jury is still out for me regarding Kiffin, but Mora certainly wouldn't be the answer either.

Bosco? Haa! I had my first ever at-bat for ND against them. It wasn't official, though, since I walked. My next time up I hit a three-hopper through the right-side hole for a single. Either way, my first game/at-bat/hit all came against Bosco.

We won, too. We ended up being pretty good that year. We were one out away from a trip to Anaheim Stadium and the CIF Finals when our dumbass center fielder playing in his final game made the totally boneheaded move of diving for a line-drive single in front of him with the bases loaded as we were nursing a three-run lead. He missed, the ball shot by him...inside-the-park grand slam...game over.

Man, I soooo wanted to bat in the same batter's box where Rod Carew and Reggie Jackson batted, and Jim fucking Miceli prevented me from getting there.

Ha...ND-Bosco, an old time Del Rey League rivalry.....actually being called this week by an old Crespi guy......check it out on the Fox Sports Prep Zone game of the week. Shit, I have no idea who I'm rooting for. Shit, I'm supposed to be neutral........

By the way, Lax, checked your game a couple weeks ago on the tube....you're not half bad...no forced inaccuracies, decent research, timing....and a face made for radio.....

Stay with it.

Congrats, socal and Seer. Our guys simply committed too many mistakes while your guys made more key plays. Definitely your guys were more clutch.

Bam. Streak over.

Go ahead, socal. Lay a sig on me. Fifty posts, right?

As for the game, I don't know what it is with this year's USC team but I've never seen a supposedly good team come out so flat and downright sloppy so often in one season. Between the Utah, Oregon and UCLA games they found ways to be down 14-0 or worse within the blink of an eye. Just the sloppiest play on both sides of the ball. Strange turnovers. A defense that always finds a way to stay on the field, even when they have their opponent in third-and-forever situations. Instant capitulations following turnovers. Crazier still, how are Barkley and his WRs so often totally on opposite pages this late in the year? Watching him throw curl routes when the receivers are running fly patterns, it's like, wtf? That's Spring Ball stuff. We're not supposed to be seeing that crap in November, especially with experienced skill-position people.

I'm also not sure that Monte Kiffin isn't a large part of the problem. Ever since he's taken over the defense it's been far too much breaking on top of all that bending. It seems that any team with a halfway decent passing game has free rein to do whatever they want against Kiffin's passive schemes, even on obvious passing downs.

It's just not working. The inexplicably sloppy play on both sides of the ball? Father and son coaching issues there? The defense is certainly the greater offender in that regard, but it's plainly evident in both cases.

One thing's for certain: USC wildly underachieved this year, and Lane Kiffin is clearly at a loss as to what in the hell happened. Like he said today, this team had way too much talent to have four losses on their way to five.

It has to fall on him. I wouldn't relish having to fire my own dad in order to keep my gig, but it may just come to that. If it were any other situation short of a father/son coaching duo, this DC would certainly be shown the door.

Anyway, congrats again, Bruin Fan. It had to feel really good to get this one. Enjoy.

I accept your congratulations and offer my condolences...there is still that arrogance that is SuCfan...of course the loss has everything to do with YOUR team and nothing to do with being outplayed, outcoached, out toughed, etc. etc....

I already said that your guys were more clutch and made more plays, and I also said that the blame for our continued sloppiness has to fall on our coaches. That would be a clear acknowledgement that your coaches did the better job.

Our season-long sloppiness is entirely our own doing. UCLA (and Utah, Arizona, and Oregon) didn't cause all the crazy shit USC did to themselves early in games. Much of it was USC simply making bizarre unforced errors that landed them in deep holes from which they weren't able to escape, at least in the cases of the Oregon and UCLA games.

Beyond all that, yes, of course UCLA outplayed USC today. They played the better, more mistake-free game and absolutely deserved to win.

Nah, not another haiku or anything. Just something a little pithier...a bit more biting and to-the-point.

No matter. It's your world now. I'm just obliged to suffer in it.

It may be a bit too wordy but I thought I'd get my 600 characters worth and slap that bad boy up like cheesy ambulance chaser yellow page ad blown up to cover a Modesto billboard on I-5.

Does this mean you guys will take out another full-page ad in paper, with Mora now pointing the way to football dominance in L.A.?

I think I've figured out USC's problem. It's the socks. And the unis. They need to ditch those stupid cardinal and gold socks. They also need to shitcan last year's ghetto-fabulous black socks. As for the unis, I've never appreciated the change to the John McKay-era single swooshes on the shoulders. They're at least better than those red facemasks of the '90s, but that's about it.

Nope, it's time to return to the '70s look, back when men were men and USC physically dominated fools...

Just another sad day in what has been nothing but a totally fucked up year. Can we go ahead and fast-forward to 2020, please?
