“Music has long been the expression of society and societal segments resisting forces they felt unjust. The songs of the 70’s were rife with anti-war and anti-government sentiment. But now that those who once grooved to them are the arbiters of government and appliers of government power, they sure do not like folks doing what they once did and resisting state and social imposition of that which they did not want.”

I’m seriously tired of having all these old fucks trying to run the country. We need some younger blood in our political leadership. People who will still have some skin in the game after 2026. Even someone my age would be an improvement. Hell I’m 68 and still a generation behind these walking (with assistance) corpses. We definitely need a yute movement in politics.

I’m thinking AOC for President.

I agree 100% with Mikey.

We absolutely HAVE to elect younger representatives and senators, as well as a younger president. These ancient codgers make me feel like a kid. Lifelong service in government should not be allowed…term limits have got to be instituted. It’s fucking embarrassing to see these cognitively-shot octogenarians falling down, staring into space, and shitting themselves.

The insulting thing is that Mitch was brought back out into the same setting shortly after, and he refused to acknowledge that anything was wrong.
lol

"Nothing to see here, folks!"

He was clearly, for whatever reason, incapacitated.

An explanation is obviously in order.

But of course, things are out of order in Amerika.

WAY out of order.

Fetterman had his stroke & was treated for it before coming back (at a MUCH younger age).

McConnell was brought back w/o treatment while in the presidential line of succession.

JSC touched on two good reasons. The final reason is that it would require a constitutional amendment and there is no way in the wide world of sports that two thirds of the House and Senate is going to vote to term limit themselves, so it's a waste of time to discuss.

I'm not sure you need to cave, Sam.

I'm not at all sure that "Institutional knowledge and expertise" has paid dividends for us.

It seems more like a bunch of political lifers/institutional experts have been reaming Joe Citizen out on a regular basis.

Yes Chip is a “go along to get along” bootlicker so of course he wants more institutional entrenchment.

I lost what little love remained for my dad’s lifelong favorite Browns when they waaaaaay overspent for Deshaun Watson. I think that signing will cripple them for years. All in tonight on Rodgers and the Jets.

Watched for an hour, they literally showed two plays.
58 minutes of interviews, back-slapping, grovelling and Chris Collinsworth demonstrating why he needs to be taken into a field and covered in petrol. Slightly underwhelming.

It's the first exhibition game. What did you expect?

Brain fart.
Thought I could pick up a local broadcast, but it's national so you get stuck with that unwatchable crap

EDIT: There's an app for syncing radio to television, you can dump NBC and get Westwood One commentary, I'm on that.

Exactly.

I'm really excited for the Seahawks this year, but I won't be watching any of the pre-season games. The exhibition games aren't about win or lose, but about seeing how the 2nd & 3rd teams players do & finding out who to cut. Established starters see very little playing time until either the last exhibition game or the actual season begins. Pass...

Was she woke, anti-American, and anti-women when the USWNT won the Word Cup in 2015 and 2019, and the sliver in 2011, or the Olympic gold in 2012 and bronze in 2020?
