Your best option is to join Jayne in the read-only club.

1. No such assertion is made.

2. None of the images show any distortion at all.

3. Knowing the 'tard chorus would be screaming "REFRACTION!! REFRACTION!" the scientist showed near the end of this video that refraction used as the excuse for the lack of curvature is quite dubious because there needs to be a 9 ft difference in curvature (if the earth is your globe) at 6 ft eye height compared to 3 ft eye height.
The difference is only about 1/3 of that.

4. The curvature is NEVER there.
What we see continually reported and documented is that even mountains far far away (which should NEVER be seen if the earth is curving as we're told, even accounting for gross refraction) can be seen.
These things which could NEVER happen if the earth is curving as you insist are seen and documented in all different weather conditions.

5. The curvature is not there, dude. Let it sink in.

6. You are walking zombie. A globetard.

7. Read-only.

Poptart, I read the bible and consider myself a follower of Jesus also, I do not see where it describes a flat earth, instead I see that GOD created the universe. Why? in your mind are you trying to limit what GOD can do by limiting it to a flat plane. Why? are you limiting GOD's ability to provide wisdom to us to understand the incredible universe He created.
I am reading the text, a-dad.

I could post a lot of things in response to these few sentences of yours, but I will point something out and then ask you a simple question.

Genesis 1:14-18 - God set the sun, moon, and stars in the firmament.

Genesis 1:6-7 - God placed waters above the sun, moon, and stars.

Psalms 148 - These waters above the sun, moon, and stars are established forever, by His decree.

Question: Where do you think these waters are located?

---------

If you paid attention to my previous posts about lack of earth curvature, you would know that height above sea level is accounted for in the math used to calculate it.

At any rate...
In this video, the observations are done at water level.

Surely you can't be trying to tell me that the earth curvature rate is somehow different over Lake Michigan compared to the earth curvature rate over Lake Winnebago.

But then again, I should be accustomed to people trying to tell me ------> weird, wild, wacky shhhtuff.

Have a nice day.

Going to say I have no clue, and I will add that trying to describe it with local phenomena is not going to work.

The Earth is not a "marble", but a rock thrown in the perfect trajectory that God deemed suitable for us.

Take your flat earth and use that to define the following items:
1) Gravity
2) Tides
3) Winter - Spring - Summer - Fall - Seasons
4) Why orbital mechanics work.

So, I will reiterate, I think you are an IDIOT and it pains me that an IDIOT believing in a flat earth is trying to spread the word of Jesus Christ.

A-dad, you should watch the video that I posted for you a couple of weeks ago.

There is no question that the Bible tells us that we live on a flat, stationary earth which is covered by a firmament.
Inside the firmament are the sun, moon, and stars.
Waters are above the firmament.

Why am I an idiot for simply acknowledging what the text tells us?

It is evident to me that you have not decided to research the topic AT ALL, even though the Word of God plainly tells you these things about what God created for you.

As for your 4 issues...

Poptart, you are a funny guy. Funny in a crazy sense, but funny.

Um dummy, that is NOT a fish eye lens. Not even close. Scott showed you what the distortion on fish eye lenses looks like. The entire image is affected. Nothing in that shot is distorted whatsoever, especially the astronaut.

Utter and complete failure.

I am a photographer, professionally speaking, so this was so stupid that...

Scott wrote:Regarding your obsession with this silliness, I'll only comment on things I have a substantial understanding of - Cameras and lenses are one of those subjects

I understand how they work - you don't.

Fisheye lens were built to increase the horizontal (or in some cases vertical) FOV back in the analog & film days because digital cameras/ panoramic "stitching" of shots had not been invented

Today multi sensor imagers are available on 360 degree cams which make fisheyes basically obsolete.

Every "explanation" you offer when anyone presents you with the obvious pertaining to this subject is "it's photoshop, lenses or computer animation" - yet you have zero experience or frame of reference with any of these things.

Your basis for making these claims is they don't pass your eye test, yet there are thousands, if not tens of thousands of camera and video experts who could easily confirm your suspicions - but they don't because they know they're not faked

The rocket launch Jay posted is the best example - it's something you've asked for multiple times, yet once presented with it you deny it as well - simply because it doesn't fit your narrative
Scott, the rocket launches Jayne posted were EASILY taken apart.
They do NOT show a rocket going from land to space.
Stop the nonsense.

Pause the video at 5:45.

Here Felix is less than 18 miles above the surface of the earth.

But look at how the earth looks.

Your globe would not look REMOTELY CLOSE to like that from just 18 miles off the surface.
He's only 18 miles up, dude.

You would have to go 20 times higher than 18 miles to even have your globe approach looking like that.

It's a lens distortion.

A-dad (and other believers among us)...

The very first page of the Bible tells us that the globe earth orbiting a sun which is the center of the solar system -----> can not be.

The very first page.
Where God tells us what He created for us.

Why would God's Word tell us, on the first page, information which is the direct OPPOSITE of what it really is?

We are told over and over that God does not (CAN NOT) lie.

He lied to us about our world -- on page 1 of the Bible?
lol

Mark 13:25
And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

Revelation 6:13
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

How do you imagine the stars are going to fall to the earth?

Okay, some clarification on numbers here. The curvature of the Earth becomes visible around 35,000 feet. Our intrepid space sky diver jumped from about 25 miles, equating to 132,000 feet, around five time the distance. So yes, the curve would be pronounced. The picture you keep referring to as "fish eye" is more akin to a wide angle lens. Scott has already given some great examples of the way an image changes due to the type of lens and aspect ratios involved. The "distortion" in that image of the Earth, is in part due to the lens, enhancing the way the planet appears below. Nevertheless, it is still a spherical planet.

Here's an image that is much lower than the space shot. It still shows the curvature in the background, but as you can see, the sky diver is not distorted, stretched, "fish eyed", blah blah whatever.

Image

If you need more, here's the actual footage of the dive.

Once more, we are looking at video footage, not a photo. No special effects, no enhancements. Again, the wide angle used from outside the capsule does bend the curvature to a noticeable degree, but if the plane behind him were flat, this would not happen, unless it were a real fish eye, which it is not. As mentioned before, the entire image, both foreground and background would be affected. The foreground is not.

Take some photo lessons poptart, you know less than nothing about the subject.

Can we get further clarification on those numbers?

35,000 * 5 = 175,000
