A lot of places suck. Each sucks in its own unique way. What are the things which do not suck about Appleton?

Appleton is by Green Bay....nothing but White people. Cold winters. Nothing to do but drink beer and cheer on the Packers. You'd hate it.

I suggest getting blind drunk and then swimming in Lake Michigan. If you have to drive to Lake Michigan that's fine. Just make sure you're hammered drunk

Drunks ruin everything, so no. Lake Michigan is fine; I don't know if it's still as gentle, beach-wise. It's been a very long time. That would be reason enough to go. Are there nearby garden walks/conservatories?

If you wanna do Lake Michigan properly, you gotta go across to the other side.

Appleton is okay. Pickle is right, not many of our race is there and they will stare at you. Nice city if you have kids, lot of things to do, but I don't think you have any and if so it is news to me. The lakefront is nice, but not anything like Green Lake WI, which is awesome in the summer. And the poster from Michigan is correct, the Michigan side of the lake is preferable for swimming and what not and better beaches. The ones on the Wisconsin side reminds me of when I lived in England (East Anglia - Ipswich and Great Yarmouth area) in how cold the water is and rocky. The wind is no help either similar to that in England.

If you visit Wisconsin, Madison is better than Milwaukee unless you want to go to the zoo as there is a lot of good people in Madison. My wife's family comes from Sheboygan and that is a nice city on the lake as well, but hard to drive around and see sites.

I would say you will like it here if you visit, but living, you have to be able to handle the frigid weather we receive at times.

I know a couple people who would love that ring of pastry and the coffee to go with it. Thanks, Diego.

Arch, they can stare all they want. Sad commentary on inbreeding. Maybe Wisconsin can accept some of Maine's Somali refugees to shake things up until things are normalized comparatively.

I hate rocky beaches. Can't enjoy getting pounded by the surf when the pounding is against rock instead of sand. Oh well. At least that doesn't change how gorgeous dawn and dusk should be ... unless they don't allow overnight camping.

Thank you for the tip on the zoo.

Well, Pickle?
