Here's my mikey vs scrote scorecard.

Abodes- We have all seen photographic evidence of both. Pretty fukking nice as best I can tell. And not a lawn mower or extension cord in sight. I have to call this one a draw.

Locale- While scrote may live in a nice part of KC, he still lives in KC. Fatboy on the other hand lives in the place where they invented perfect weather. If I had 88 money, I would prolly have a place somewhere in local. I would also have a place in SF and Tahoe. As much as I despise the fukking assholes that live there, Cali pretty much has geographic bode. I would also have a place on the coast of Maine, coast of Florida, Maine woods, somewhere in the rockies and something on a Caribbean Island.

Wanna know where I wouldn't have a place?

Missouri.

Although I wouldn't hold it against anyone that had a cabin in the Ozarks. I here it is nice......for Missouri.

Unless you live on the Ocean there in CT (you don't) - You'd find living here has a lot of advantages compared to living in U&R

My regular visits up there validate this opinion

I spent 3 months in the asshole of the universe, Bridgeport, CT. Fortunately I did not actually have to stay in town all the time, just when I was working. I found a fair number of bucolic New England style towns in CT. And the winter weather is milder (wassup Gulf Stream?) than anything in the Midwest. Do the cities suck? Absolutely they suck. Fortunately the cities are very small part of Connecticut.

B, You'll get no arguments from me concerning CT cities. They are, without exception, shining examples of progressive urban planning gone horribly wrong. Stewey's description of bport being the world capital of broken windows and gas stations without gas pumps is spot fukking on. I have lived all but 9 years of my life in CT. 6 years away in the Navy, 3 years is Nashville. I liked Nashville and would move back in a second. It is the best place on the planet to see live music and the countryside is purty enough. Only drawback is a day at the beach is a loooooooooooong fukking drive. Plenty of nice lakes though.

I have driven through KC. I suspect KC is kind of like Nashville minus the overabundance of musical talent. I am sure it is a great place to live and raise a family without a 7 figure income, but lets face it, if you have a 7 figure income, unless you are from there, you ain't moving to KC. CT used to be the place some of those folks moved to because it was nice and tax friendly and minutes from The City (sorry, stoolio, but The City is not SF, it is still NYC). But those days are long gone. 30 years of stunning levels of state gov incompetence has us on the road to detoilet. As much as I love small town CT life, I will likely bail while my house is still worth something. We are now the indisputed champions of state fiscal mismanagement, unless you want to let PR into the discussion. They are still worse than us.

As for cali, you really can't argue that it is a really, really, really fukking nice place to visit. Unmatched scenery, SF is, IMO, the nicest city in the country to visit. But, I wouldn't want to live there unless I had a networth well into the 8 digits. Being a barely millionaire wouldn't do.
