Completely agree Felix, music truly is in the ear of the beholder. I'm not a U2 fan either, and my Springsteen interest is limited, but I love "Born to Run", as well as "Darkness". You know, music like anything else, can be an acquired taste. For years I thought that the Grateful Dead were hammered dog shit. Now, I understand the fanaticism. It just took time and maturation of the ear to sway me to their side.

As to your list, any Warren Zevon is solid in my book, especially those first five albums. I really like "Envoy" and "Excitable Boy" the best. "John Barleycorn" is a phenomenal album. In fact, all of your choices are solid.

Let Dinsdale have his opinion, to each their own. Your taste in music is right on.

i'm spinning up a lot of vinyl because I just bought a new turntable......I had a pretty decent quality Dennon direct drive table, but unfortunately it decided to take a dump....which is okay, because the noise level from dd tables is somewhat annoying.....

i picked up a Pro-Ject RM 1.3 table, and it's fucking amazing.....so much better than the Dennon

Quicksilver being one of them. I was aware of their existence, heard a bit here and there, but I never really sat down and listened to them. Still haven't for the most part. I need to do that

Quicksilver is an acquired taste....not everybody's cup of tea....I was a big fan of John Cipollina and Nicky Hopkins....

You noticed in an earlier post I mentioned "Trout Mask Replica". No, the good Captain is not to everyone's taste, but that is what makes him so different and so great. I have always dug artists who aren't in the mainstream, like Zappa and Beefheart, who march to their own muse. Great stuff.

Stan Polley, was the manager that ripped them off and tied it up so that Warner Brothers couldn't extricate the excrow money (probably sitting in a shoebox in Polley's closet) they'd paid to "Badfinger" enterprises. Sad that somebody like Polley would take advantage of four pretty talented guys with no business acumen and simply trusted that Polley would do the right thing.

I'll bet attendance at Polley's funeral was pretty minimal, it seems he targeted lots of people to swindle them out of money. Too bad he never crossed the kind of guy that would have put a bullet through his head for fucking with him.....
