What Scott said, Friday nights are pretty much reserved for Tune Town but whatever your schedule is otherwise would be fine. Play when you feel like it and whoever shows up, shows up.

I'll make it a point to look for your 3 chord set list whenever it shows up.

So, you have to remember that the last time we were all together was in 2002 so all this newfangled radio on the internet town stuff is, is....

...a little scary.

So give me some leeway as I try to figure out where this Town is and how I can get there. :)

Smackie was in rare form last night I must say. Not for the tunes so much (which never suck... well, maybe a little) but for his work behind the mic.

Properly chastened... but I didn't realize some of my stand byes like Stone Cold got old after the first time you heard it.

oh well, Tune Town abides.

I will be in Sunday evening at about 8pm CST for a 2 hour 3 chord show. I'm gonna be playing a 53 song set in about 2 hours time. It will be my first time ever on air, but I am not as slick in my production skills as some others so I will have no mic. I also may have a bit of audio fluctuations in volume as some songs are ripped from CD and lot uploaded from vinyl. Anyway if any one has an interest in shitty music I will oblige in my world wide debut tomorrow night.

Pedestrian at best. A pitiful attempt on Blackmore's part to have Rainbow included among the elite of '80s hair bands. But it's ok for you to you like it.

OK folks this is it. Tonight at 8 CST the 'fool will be broadcasting his first ever radio show. While I do not have the slick production or varied play lists of established DJs I do have a 2 hour set lined up full of shitty music. If you have ever wanted to experience the sounds of 3 chord rock book ended by 2 country songs then tune in. I have included my playlist in case some thing catches your eye. Please drink heavily or huff octane booster before hand. It may help the music sound better.

1. Eleven Hundred Springs “Thunderbird Will Do Just Find” Outlaw country from Dallas, Texas.
2. Bury Jenny “Looking For A Fight” I tunes tagged this as “Ciccone Youth” for some reason. This is a Bury Jenny bootleg I got from the lead singer, Neil Curran. Neil is a London native who moved to Texas by way of Cleveland and this was his first group in Austin around 1991.
3. Dead End Cruisers “Live Young” Great punk band from the hey day of mid 90’s Austin Punk scene. This was the 2nd band formed by Neil Curran. It is one of my all time fave bands,
4. Dead End Cruisers “Unlisted” Untitled track by the cruisers featuring bassist Dead End Dave on vocals.
5. Dead End Cruisers “Friday Nights” Another Cruiser blast with a classic rock twist in it.
6. The Score “Each Day” For some reason I Tunes thinks this is the Royal Harmonic Orchestra. Last effort by Neil Curran when 3 Cruisers teamed up with the bassist from Stretford.
7. Big Boys “Fun, Fun, Fun” Classic song by early 80’s Austin home town heroes.
8. Dictators “Who Will Save Rock and Roll” Old school NYC punkers that have existed since the early 70’s.
9. Minor Threat “Filler” Classic 80’s DC hardcore. One of the first hardcore songs I ever heard.
10. Butthole Surfers “I Hate My Job” Noising punk rock from the San Antonio in the early 80’s.
11. Nine Pound Hammer “Long Gone Daddy” Cow Punk from Kentucky.
12. Chumps “Rock City Rejects” Late 90’s punk from Austin. Very minimalist as they never play a lick of lead in their songs.
13. Chumps “Mopac Rapist” Another Austin classic about a serial rapist who lived down the street from the Chump house.
14. Code Of Honor “Stolen Faith” Old school San Francisco hardcore.
15. Sick Pleasure “ Get The MUNI Driver” Same band as Code of Honor but with a different vocalist.
16. Gun Club “Sex Beat” Bluesy punk from the early 80’s.
17. Hamicks “Jack Off” Mid 90’s Austin outfit.
18. Cryin Out Louds “Bloodhound” Mid 90’s Austin garage punk.
19. Teen Titans “UTPD Killer” Terrible Austin punk from the 90’s. This song caused a stir with the University of Texas Police Department at the time.
20. Gomez “Kiss Meets The Phantom Of The Park” Mid 90’s Austin pop punkers singing goofy songs.
21. Descendents “Bikeage” Classic Manhattan Beach, California melodic hardcore.
22. Devil Dogs “Baby I’m A King” Great NYC garage rockers from the early 90’s.
23. Stratford “Zerox Love” Lo-fi garage pop punk from the mid 90’s Austin scene.
24. Bad Religion “Voice Of God Is Government” One of my favorite old school BR songs.
25. Dicks “Rich Daddy” Classic Austin Hardcore from the 80’s before they fled to SF to pursue homosexuality and communism.
26. GG Allin “Don’t Talk To Me” Old GG when his band was called the Jabbers and before he had a fascination with feces.
27. Gal’s Panic “Skoliosis Skank” Mid 90’s Austin ska-punk outfit.
28. Spies Like Us “Milk” Goofy straight forward ska from San Antonio.
29. The Gears “Last Chord” Underrated surf punk band from Los Angeles in the late 70’s.
30. Hormones “Sell Out Young” Mid 90’s Austin punk with a front man who tried to emulate the looks of the New York Dolls.
31. Oblivians “mvscal Rich” Blues infused garage rock from Memphis.
32. The Humpers “Up Your Heart” Early 90’s bar band punk from Long Beach, California.
33. Iggy and The Stooges “Search And Destroy” Classic song that blows my mind it was put out in 1973.
34. Negative Approach “Ready To Fight” Intense 80’s hardcore from Detroit.
35. Inhalants “Kolchak The Night Stalker” Mid 90’s garage band who’s front man was my college math professor.
36. Big Drag “It’s OK” Mid 90’s pop punk from San Antonio.
37. Jesus Christ Superfly “Big Shit” First single from this Austin band who has been around since the early 90’s.
38. The Gories “I Think I’ve Had It” Low-Fi garage band from Detroit.
39. The Lyres “The Way I Feel About You” Garage punkers from Boston throughout the 80’s.
40. Miss Universe “Other Peoples Cabs” Mid 90’s Austin pop punk. Was sued by the Miss Universe pageant to change their name.
41. Motards “Make You Pay” Great dirty punk from the mid 90’s Austin scene. They probably played more often than any other band of the era
42. New Bomb Turks “Trying To Get By” With apologies to 88 these guys are probably the best thing to ever come from OSU and Columbus, Ohio.
43. Offenders “I Hate Myself” Early 80’s Austin Hardcore.
44. Phantom Creeps “Theme” Great mid 90’s surf punk instrumental from Austin.
45. Pink Lincolns “I Got My Tie On” Underrated hardcore from Tampa, Florida.
46. Supercharger “I want It Bad” Low-Fi garage punk from San Francisco.
47. Rip Offs “Do The Uganda” The band spawned when Supercharger broke up. Great garage sound covering this classic song by The Controllers.
48. Rip Offs “Heat Seeker/ I’ll Rip Your Heart Out” Another fine tune from San Francisco.
49. Really Red “Decay” Great Political hardcore from Houston in the early 80’s.
50. The Satans “Ain’t Gotta Choose” Mid 90’s garage punk from Austin.
51. The Satans “Run Mother Fucker” Another fine gem from Austin
52. Social Unrest “Making Room For Youth” Early 80’s hardcore from San Francisco.
53. The Stains “John Wayne Was A Nazi” Classic old school hardcore from Austin. They would later change their name to Millions of Dead Cops and flee to San Fran to pursue leftist homo ideals.
54. Teengenerate “I Don’t Mind” Great garage punk from Japan that has some undecipherable broken English lyrics.
55. Two tons Of Steel” I’m Not That Lucky” This is my son’s favorite band and his favorite song. Two Tons is a San Antonio based rockabilly country band that plays an incredible live show. I decided to include this song since this is my current them song as a Texas Longhorn fan.

Unfortunately, we've all had that happen to us. Sometimes Indy rebooting the server has helped. Other times, not so much. Sorry I missed yesterday's show. By the looks of the setlist, I would have both enjoyed it and learned a few things.

PC using and former PC using DJs see if you can help the guy. BTW--what with Dave Brubeck passing on, I may hop in and play some of his tunes later tonight. Shooting for 9-10 PM EST if anyone is interested.

Yeah, I remember those frustrations. Total suckage. Maybe BSmack, as the senior PC-usin' deejay, can give you some tips on minimizing and/or correcting the problem.

The best solution (although not cheap) is to use a Mac. Coming from someone who's used a PC and a Mac, I can tell you the difference is striking. Very few (if any) "crash & burns," skipping, or other technical problems with a Mac, and being able to use the Djay app (not available for PCs) allows for smooth segues and the ability to talk on the mic, which causes major difficulties when tried on a PC.

Hope you're able to get the bugs worked out.

You might want check your encoder settings. If it is crashing, reduce your encoder settings. I run at 96k with minimal problems.

I've played with the encoder settings, the buffering settings, disabled my firewall, reinstalled Winamp, and changed the priority of Winamp on my machine. I think I may be SOL on being a real live internet DJ. Maybe my PC and/or ISP is junk. None the less, thanks to all who offered suggestions.

You can use other programs to broadcast, not just Winamp. VLC also works.

Not that I'm going to call your PC junk, but just just for shits, what are your specs?
I'm running Windows Vista, 2.3GHZ AMD processor, 64 Bit OS, 7G of RAM and my ISP is AT&T Uverse and am getting 47ms pings and 93 kps upload.

93 kbps up?

Yea, you're pretty much doomed. You should call your isp. That is an awful speed reading. The lowest speed dsl plan I've yet seen provisions at 192kbps up. Most folks are provisioned for at least 448kbps or 768 kbps up.

Unless you're on a satellite plan. Then just abandon ALL hope.

I must have idiot on the brain. My upload is not that bad. I left a zero out of there. I'm getting 930 kbps up. I'm cheap and only pay for 6/1 internet, which is dirt cheap with my "employee" pricing.

Nice start with Echoes. You had to take a dump/smoke a joint right away?

thanks for the 'tribute' last night, Smackie. I bailed after Hitch a Ride because I was dog tired and because really, it couldn't have gotten any better than that.

Looking forward to Van's tribute.
