I don't expect that many of you caught the Oklahoma @ Witchita State game on ESPN2 last evenning but at any rate...
Growing up the greatest catch I can remember was Bo Jackson's little ditty up the CF wall in Kansas City snagging the home run ball.
That was topped last night in the second inning (if memory serves me correct this morning) by the Right Fielder (Brown) of WSU. On a foul ball out near the right field wall Brown had raced down a foul ball that wasd appearantly going to land beyond the fence. Kid flips around and treads backwards doing a little hop, backwards up and over the fence, sprawling out like a gymnast and having the wall bring his legs up even further sort of tilting his head towards the ground. All this occured while caught and succesfully held on to the ball!!! It was by far and away the damndest catch I had ever seen made. Brown also went something like 4-4 with two doubles and 3 RBIs.
Oklahoma lost 7-5 but the way this year has been going I consider it a moral victory not having been beaten by 5 or more runs.
