The Giants have better defense (especially pass rush), & more good receivers (who aren't lame).

Giants - 31
Patriots - 24

Of course if Belichick is sandbagging and Gronk has a regular ankle sprain it'll be closer.

Giants - 31
Patriots - 28

Giants 34-20

They have two many weapons for NE's shit D and their front 4 is good enough to offset little behind them. I'd like to be wrong. But that's how I see it.

I would take the Giants +3 if I was betting the line.

I lean toward thinking NY will win outright, but I have very little interest in the game.

Dislike for the Gaytriots and disdain for the city of New York.

A piss shower for both of 'em.

Why, yes, pops, a player has died during a game. From a heart attack. I hope you’re happy.

I remember when this happened and Howard Cosell covered it the next night on Monday Night Football. You’ll be happy to know, pops, that because of his chest pains weeks beforehand, Hughes came to know the Lord. A religion based on fear, eh?

It's a good time to go out and do other things, though, because normal crowds are pretty thin.

I think the Pats control the game by mid 3rd quarter and give up a late score for the 4 point win

Maybe "better" according to the eyeball test, and due to getting healthier.

Staistically?

Must be a PB thing.

Pats had more INTs, equalled NYG in forced fumbles, and scored more points on defense. Statistically, the only place the Giants are better than the Pats is over the Pats' pathetic pass D.

Statistically the Eagles had the 8th ranked defense in the NFL. You'd have a hard time convincing ANYONE who watched that team with any regularity that the Eagles had the 8th ranked defense in the league. On the local radio this morning a show had on Ray Didinger who happens to be in enshrined in the Profootball HOF (writer's wing). In short, his resume is impeccable. He happens to watch film. A lot of it since he also works for NFL Films.

His take? The Eagles defense was one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

Yet, they're ranked 8th per NFL.com

I don't think Joe is misinformed. Rather I think he's doing what a lot of (serious) fans tend to do which is to not only look at stats but realistically judge how a team has played over the last half of the season as well as the playoffs with both an eyeball look as well as stats more reflective of how the team is playing now.

I saw one of the premier offensive teams in the NFL this past season get shut down by a really good Giants defense in Wisconsin a few weeks ago. How they played against the Packers matter a lot more than how the Giants D played in weeks 1-8.

What isn't amazing is I don't need to look at stat sheets to have a better & more accurate take than you dim bulb (see 9er Giants NFC champ thread).

Do you ever post a take, or do you just follow me around sucking my ass?

Yes. I am sure Brady will try harder this time. Yeah. That's the ticket. He wasn't properly motivated back in 2008. Ya know, the chance at 19-0 and immortality wasn't enough. Now that he has a chance to "get someone back" he will surely win.

I can't decide which shit take of yours stinks worse... the one where you said "all you have to do is outscore the other team to win"... or this pile of rhino dung.

Too close to call.

And truthfully, no one gives a fuck whether you tune in or not. I doubt you SoCal hippie lettuce smoking, no life having, surfer fucks could pull yourselves away from the beach to watch the game even if your own shit franchise was about to get its shit pushed in... again. Statistically, in NFL history, one NFC defense (Bears) has actually KILLED an opponent.

No AFC defense has made it's mark.

The "Rematch?" Brady exacting revenge? Can the Giants pull off another miracle run?

And really? You need a "compelling storyline" to watch a football game? It's the fucking Super Bowl, and what appears to be a pretty competitive matchup to boot. Two teams are going to line up and smack pads for all the marbles. What more do you want?

Yes, Goobs, you are an unread idiot.

That's all well and good, Wags, except you used 'imminently,' not 'eminently,' which is the correction Goobs provided. You wanted to use 'eminently'—your Kansas Citian gray matter was just aching to extract the word from those besotted cobwebs—but when push came to shove you butcherfucked it right the hell up.
