Ben Stiller don't cut it. The guy seems to be driven and motivated but he ain't funny. He'd make a fine investment banker, but instead he tried to gain Mommy's love by picking up the family business.
He has movies where he plays the straight man with funny things happening to him (There's Nothing About Mary) and the over-the-top stereotype that might be funny in a recurring skit but ain't a movie (Dodgeball, Zoolander). In both you see the guy hamming it up, but there ain't nothing funny about it. Reality Bites bites.
Watching him act is like waiting for a monster turd to finally take the off ramp to Toiletsville.

Big fan of Stiller. "The Ben Stiller Show" was about 10 years ahead of it's time. I rank it up there with "Mr. Show" and "Kids in the Hall". Good stuff. "Dodgeball" had some laughs, but it wasn't steller. Liked "Zoolander" more the second time I saw it. "Meet the Parents" was good stuff. "Something About Mary" was solid (epic cameo by the Best. QB. Ever.). What's not to like about Ben Stiller? Besides his dad.
