Just got home in time to see SC score. Then 'furd marched back down the field without slowing down.

Stanford picking up where they left off last week

21-7 mid second qtr.

Gerhart now leading the nation with 18 tds.

Can't remember seeing an SC offense as flat as they've been the past few weeks.

'Spray, USC had three nice drives. Problem is, the first two ended ended in turnovers, which Stanford turned into TDs.

So far, USC has had no answer for the Stanford offense. Luck has been unstoppable with his decision making and execution, and Gerhart is just a beast.

The Stanford O-line is underrated. They're dominating. They're giving Luck time, and they're opening holes.

USC's lack of defensive pressure continues. Their D-line is doing nothing, for the third time in four games.

Also...turnovers. Stanford's gotten a fumble and tipped pass for a pick against USC, killing two USC drives, leading to fourteen points. On the other side, USC has again forced no turnovers.

One thing to note, which will surely enrage Mace, is that USC's O is still missing Stafon Johnson, which hurts in a couple ways (blocking, and short yardage running), and they're also missing their All-American center, their all-important TE, and Damian Williams, their best WR. Barkley's two biggest weapons, McCoy and Williams, didn't suit up.

Their offense is simply too ineffective and mistake prone now to be able to make up for their defensive inefficiencies. They need to be able to drive for long periods of time, to keep their D off the field. Instead, it's the other way around. Their D can't get off the field, and their O is putting them right back on the field.

And just as I say that, they force Gerhart to fumble on the Stanford 40, and on the following play Barkley hits a bomb for a TD.

21-14, Stanford.

Gerhart comes out on the next drive and rips off another big run...

Don't know why Stanford even attempts to run wide on SC. The OL seems able to open holes up the middle at will but SC's defensive speed is too much for them to go wide successfully.

Yep.

Also, USC's tackling remains so poor that Stanford ought to just keep pounding away.

I thought it was going to be an 8-4 team for USC at the start of this year but now i think they will be 7-5. This is the worst coached USC team since Hackett was there. Malcolm Smith has Luck lined up for a 10 year loss and he just shoulder hits him allowing Luck to stay on his feet and make a play getting the ball down inside the 20. I refuse to go to any more USC games as long as Rocky Seto is the DC, this defense is horrible.

This is a lot like the second half last week. Every time Oregon scored Stanford would come right back. 14 point lead to 7 to 14 to 7 to 14.

'Spray, no, USC is getting no pressure on Luck either. What little pressure they're getting, it's all too easy for him to step up and run out of trouble. They're getting no pressure up the middle, and there's no "contain."

The Cardinal O-line is damn good. They've been doing this all year, and they just keep getting better, while USC's D-line is deteriorating.

Between Locker, Masoli, Luck and Barkley the Pac 10 will definitely be loaded at QB next year.

Nice holes, which Gerhart hits fast and HARD. SC's dbs are more physical than Oregon's. Gerhart is picking up yardage, but against Oregon once he got into the secondary it looked like a man against boys.

Luck does it again. He's just killing USC with his scrambles. USC has to blitz this guy, to get to him before he can step up and make decisions.

Looks like the Pac 10 is back, in terms of having great QBs and explosive offenses, which, yes, are making their Ds look bad.

Pick six, Stanford.

42-21, Stanford. Drive home safely.

Jim Harbaugh owns the Coliseum, and the wheels have officially fallen off the USC wagon. The train wreck season has arrived.

Pretty sure Canfield is done... since he's been there for about 12 years.

As far as "loaded" -- dude, Canfield sucks big fat donkey dick... which is why Sheepfuckerfan calls for his head on a platter after every loss.

Dude only ever looks good against USC.

Moevao sucks even worse, by the way... and his eligibility is up too. They'll pull some other POS off the recruiting scrap heap, who may end up being decent (ie Derek Anderson, Jonathan Smith), or he'll suck... it's Beav recruiting.

Kinda funny how in modern times in the PAC, no one seems to even know how to approach defending the Power-I and the other crap Furd pulls.

Three turnovers is the difference in this game.

The point being, that defense in the PAC has become about defending the spread-option, like Oregon runs, or the "pro set" offense of USC and UDub (although Dub never seems to stick to any one style of offense for very long, but usually come up with some sort of deep game regardless who's at the helm).

Captain Don't Comeback to Michigan comes in, plays some good ol' fashioned BIG TIME MOTHERFUCKING POWER COLLEGE FOOTBALL, and the opposing DCs sit there and scratch their heads trying to stop it... wasn't like that in the Old Days.

Dins, it's not so much the scheme. It's the players and the execution. Stanford is developing a very good offense. Their O-line is playing excellently, and both Luck and especially Gerhart are just damn good players.

Credit where credit is due. Stanford's O is for real. Substitute WSU's players and execution and Harbaugh's O would be easy to defend.

Btw, congratulations, Mikey. Your guys looked fantastic today. That was definitely no fluke. Stanford's O is for real, and you made enough big plays on D to build and maintain separation.

Sucks for me, but it's great to see what you guys are building there. I hope you can sustain it, once Gerhart's gone.
