partner?
You're gonna fly about, what, 10-12k miles to attend a rug munching party with the girls in vegas?
Better be a PET afterwards.

Shit, I thought this was going to be a warning about Diego moving to Australia.

Re: Lookout kiddies!!!
Not sure why, but after reading this this morning I asked my wife if she wanted to hit Vegas for the weekend. She was like "You're kidding, right?" I said "Nope, let's go." She said if I could make arrangements for the kids, go fo it.
So, called the sitter, mother-in-law and sister-in-law. M-I-L taking kids tonight and dropping off at sitter tomorrow. S-I-L is putting us up for the evening in Indianapolis since our flight is at 8:00 AM and we live 2.5 hours away. Sitter will keep the kids until Sunday night. Booked nonstop rountrip flights and 2 nights at the Venetian for only $640 total, not each (thanks comps from Club Grazie during last trip out!). Got tix for Ray Romano and Brad Garrett (wife wanted to see this) for $189 (25% off). All in all, that's a pretty damn good price for a last minute trip to Vegas.

Re: Lookout kiddies!!!
I actually haven't been to Vegas yet. It probably doesn't even rank in the top 10 U.S. cities or places I want to visit. Now, it's almost assured I'd have a good time there. Booze, buffets, bright lights, skanks, gambling...what's not to enjoy? That being said, and without intentionally prompting Dins here, I'd probably rather hit up the U&L.
But...the prospect of spending an afternoon throwing a couple/few hundred away on March Madness games all afternoon sounds enticing. I'll have to do that someday. Cards? Not really my thing.

I'd definitely like to hit up the U&L someday too. And I will. Vegas is a blast though. I will play a lot of blackjack, but I will also sit int he sportsbook for hours on end betting horses and sports. I was in Vegas for the first two rounds of the NCAA tourney a couple years back. It was awesome. Was in Vegas for NFL playoffs one year. Have been in Vegas also for a CFB weekend, too. I used to just go to the MGM Grand sports book, but The Venetian is pretty damn sweet too and nowhere near as crowded.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:I actually haven't been to Vegas yet. If you like to gamble, and don't mind pssing a few hundred bucks away doing so, it's a great time. I usually play blackjack at $25/hand, but depending on how I am doing, have gone up to $200/hand. If you are just sitting down to play for 20-30 minutes, you can get eaten alive, but I'll sit down for about 4-5 hours straight. The odds are in Vegas' favor, but sitting foor a longer period helps average out wins/losses. My last trip to Vegas I came out about $1500 ahead. Unfortunately, this time, I gave some of it back to the tune of about $500. So be it. I spent probably 16 hours at a blackjack table in total and maybe 12 hours in the sportsbook. The A&M/taco tech was on the big screen which I enjoyed watching. Also enjoyed watching Maryland beat UNC in OT. In an enviornment like that, it is great. You have your own lounge chair, but games like Maryland/UNC, you typically have an underdog crowd as we all like upsets.
I know you can have a similar experiance in a nice bar in any town with a nice sports bar setup. It's the whole package that Vegas offers though. I won't say it can't be beat, but when your agenda is to go party, drink up, eat well, gamble, take in a show or two, etc., Vegas is a helluva place to do it. Anyone can spout off how their "region" offers many of these things. In Vegas, you can pretty much do all of them in just about any hotel.

Re: Lookout kiddies!!!
Likewise, never been to Vegas and really don't have a hankering to go. So many other cities I'd rather hit up or go back to again. While we're at it... Chicago, San Fran, New York, Portland, Vancouver, DC, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, among others. Hell, will be in Chicago for a long weekend starting on Thursday and can't freakin' wait. Of course, it helps that some raw Kumamoto oysters, dinner at Le Colonial, the Penguins/Blackhawk game... oh, and some fine pussy will be meeting me there.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:I actually haven't been to Vegas yet. But yes, you've got to get to the U&L. Portland is one of my top five favorite cities in the States. Great scenery, excellent golf, sick-ass beer selection, and some pretty damned good food.

Lived in Vegas (Henderson) for five years.
Spent four years trying to get back to my beloved native state, and finally made it in 1999.
Didn't look back on the way out and haven't been back since.
Vegas and everybody there can go fuck themselves as far as I'm concerned.

Best body I ever screwed in my life. I mean, I'm damned proud of that one. Shit, she texted me a pic of her legs a few days later:
In between, almost got my ass kicked by her much-bigger-than-I ex boyfriend. If it weren't for a taxi waiting for us outside the bar, I might still be play-doh'ed through a storm grate. On second thought... was playing some billiards with a few uhhhh, pretty large black guys who clued me in on what was going on and was about to go down... they most assuredly woulda had my back. Buying them a few beers earlier on in the eve woulda unkowingly paid off.

Is that a euphamism for sucking their dicks so you didn't get your ass beat by them?Buying them a few beers
