Rack Mikey for taking one for the team and braving the elements. The sexiest starting pitcher matchup in all of the league tonight.

Did you have a $9 beer?

Yeah trev, it was freezing. Must have gotten way down into the 50s.

I won't be buying any beers at Petco this year I'm afraid, with the prices they're charging now.

We got a couple of Von's deli sammiches and a 6 pack and consumed them while sitting in the car on the 6th floor of the parking structure. Because of that we missed all the pre-game stuff (mostly Ted Leitner trying to seem important, I assume), but that's OK because we made it for the first pitch.

Great game for Jake. Seven 3-hit shutout innings in a 4-0 win. Drove in the first run with a sac fly and the second run with a single. He also walked. The offseason pick-ups seem to be working out well so far as Iguchi had 3 hits inculding a pair of doubles and Tony Clark drove in the final run with pinch single. I expect both of these guys to forget how to hit within 2 or 3 months, though. With a four run lead Trevor never got a chance to extend his streak of blown saves.

Typical Padre action - seems like we never left. Four runs on 14 hits :meds: and Jake would have gotten virtually no support if it weren't for his own bat. RACK 'em anyway - it's good to be back.

Our company "Baseball Day" this season is June 21 for the game against the Tiggers.

Should be fun as we have two big time Michiganders in our crew.

Very cool...even though interleague play has gone off on for a little while, it's always a trip to see the Tigers play in NL ballparks. I saw them play the Cubs at Wrigley a couple years ago.

Thank God the Astros found their bats last night.
