OCmike's Humpday Challenge

Post by OCmike »

OCmike's Humpday Challenge

There is only one rule: No more than one correctly answered question per person, per hour

1. Who was in command at the Alamo?

2. What team did David Beckham play for prior to joining the LA Galaxy?

3. What is “apraxia”?

4. Who was the first Heisman winner to (head) coach another Heisman winner?

5. Brad Banks played what position for what school?

6. Who was the first recipient of the Heisman trophy?

7. Which of the 2002 Heisman Trophy candidates wore number 2 and ran for 27 touchdowns, including 6 in the season finale against Virginia Tech?

8. Who won the Fred Biletnikoff Award, while playing for a MAC school in 1997?

9. Who was ranked number 1 at the end of the season that started in the Fall of 1986? (Happy? :D)

10. Without authority from Congress, the president may send troops to any given area for how long?

11. When did the draft end in the U.S.?

12. How many times was Seoul occupied by the North Koreans during the Korean War?

13. What did "ARVN" stand for in the Vietnam War?

14. What is the small bony protrusion at the bottom of the breastbone?

15. What is the name for the salivary gland located at the base of each ear?

16. What is the name of the middle portion of the small intestine?

17. When urine travels down the proximal convoluted tubule, it turns through a curve before it travels through the distal convoluted tubule. What is this curved section called?

18. What is an NSAID?

19. Who was the drummer for Guns ‘N Roses when they made “Appetite for Destruction”?

20. According to Keith Richards, he awoke one 1964 morning in a hotel room with a riff running through his head. He recorded the riff and the song's central phrase, and then worked out the rest at the Stones' next recording session. What Rolling Stones tune ultimately came of this?

ucant with the funnay. I doubt you'll see it called that in Gray's!

It's either the jejunum or the duodenum, I can't remember. I think the duodenum is the top portion of the SI, so I'll go with jejunum.

And jejunum would be correct.

BTW, the duodenum is what connects the stomach to the small instestine.

Props to you for putting in some anatomy questions this week. Shit, the only sports trivia I could answer would be hockey, but I won't hold my breath on seeing any of those questions.

Fine, then we'll go with number 9. And just to eliminate all possible discrepancies...

End of regular season #1- Miami

#1 after bowl games- Penn State

Shit. I thought it was PSU. Figured Miami was a good pick since they won a good deal in the late 80's.

Shane Conlan and company clowned Vinnie Testaverde in the Fiesta Bowl that year. Remember when Jimmy Johnson was known as a coach who "couldn't win the big one"? Sorry to see that label get removed.
