I'll do my best. I don't think they let us carry cameras into Hard Rock Live, but I'll hide it in a secret compartment in my purse. ;)

Ok I'm back and took lots of pics and video but I am singing and screaming in the background and I am embarrassed!!!!!

By the way, that was the most ENTERTAINING and FUN show I've ever been to! The sound was amazing as well. Colin Meloy is a big geek, but he has wonderful stage presence and he was very amusing!

Band that opened up for them reminded me of Portishead. The name was My Brightest Diamond. Still on the fence about them. They only played for 30 minutes. I may have to download some stuff and listen more closely.

I'll post pics and videos tomorrow.

Sorry some of these came out blurry. Chick in the blue dress is the singer of My Brightest Diamond.

I think you're confusing Decemberists with Nu Shooz.

Ok I got one video posted. It's the first time I've recorded a concert with my digital camera, so I apologize for the crappy sound at some points.

No they didn't. They only played songs from Crane Wife and Picaresque. They didn't even sing "Eli, The Barrowboy" which made me sad. But --- they played great, they sounded great, and they really get the audience involved. It was a good time, seriously. Don't miss it!

i have a friend who saw them in norfolk and said they played a handful of songs from castaways. i'm disappointed they would go a whole show without playing anything from their debut album, but shit, it's not like i'm asking for california one/youth and beauty brigade in its entirety. just a leslie ann levine or odalisque would be great.

and no songs from her majesty? that surprises me. did they play "the chimbley sweep?" that is a hell of a song.

Nope. I wanted to hear "My Mother Was A Chinese Trapeze Artist" or "Leslie Anne Levine" as well. Disappointing, but I'd drive 2 hours to see them again.

I'd would love to see the Decemberists in a theatre like that. Thanks for the sharing the pics. You got a couple of good shots and you probably could have had more if you made the proper adjustments.
