1st hole in one today

Post by Laxplayer »

Yep, today was the day. We had a league match so when the kids play, so do the coaches. It's me and another coach. Par 3 104 yds. He puts his about 5' from the hole. I hit a nice easy pitching wedge......in the air....dude, that's right at it......hits the green, one bounce and in the cup......fucking cool........I've been close the last few times out. Within about 3-7 feet about 6 times but today was the day.....

You sir, are THE MAN!

Only one I've ever had was on a par-3 course.

It's just the Golf Gods' way of getting you to come back and give them more of your money....it's a conspiracy.

Rack the ace!

The closest I've ever come to an ace was holing out an 8 iron for an eagle from 145 yards. It was cool, but not quite as cool as marking a 1 with two circles around it on your card.

Fuck you Lax.

Sin,
Only guy here w/o a hole in one it seems.

Seriously, i know when i'll get a hole in 1. It'll be on a 100 yard or so hole and i will coon a sand wedge that hits the flag on a rope and drops in the hole. I won't even be able to enjoy it.

One of my bestest golf buddies plays in a men's league. He told the story how last summer, the absolute worst player in the league, who he was of course playing against that day, did exactly that. Hit the actual flag at about 100MPH ball speed, which somehow tangled in the freaking flag, and dropped straight into the hole.

Crazy.

I raise my hand.
6" is the closest, as some of you may remember... on this particular swing, as luck would have it:

It's kind of hard to tell from that pic...is that a red tee marker you're standing next to there, Ken?

All I gotta say is I am amazed you got it 6" to the pin with that swing.

Did you slice the shit out of it into the green? Your hips are completely wide open and your club is still more than a foot from the ball. I don't know how you didn't shank it!

Rack your EA Sports Tiger Woods Spin.

I was playing a fade if I recall correctly, frisco. One of my favorite shots since it's one of the few I can control. Swhy my alignment is left.

As far as the hips go, that's always been a flaw in my swing. Doesn't seem to affect me much though. Never been one to slice or fade it hard, w/out trying, that is. Prolly lose a few yards though. Hey, my hands are always ahead of the ball and I'm a pretty good ball striker... so I'm happy. For now.

You must get some major wrist action if you don't have much of a slice with that swing. I didn't get that kind of wrist action until we had a kid...course, I don't play golf much anymore either.

Speaking of which, I'm fucking playing golf next week. I haven't played in months.

I was going to start cracking on that swing, but I opted for the "red tees" smack instead.

I was also kinda going with the "let he who is without sin" angle, as well.

But damn, how do you even hit the freaking ball, when every bit of your weight is on your left foot, and the club is nowhere near the impact zone yet?

Crazy. But...it's where the ball ends up when it stops rolling, and not how you or it looks getting there that counts.

Life is good for me.

Frisco.......marraige and kids will ruin a golf swing.

Lipped one out on a par 3 chip-and-putt course saturday. A feat made all the more impressive, considering how very intoxicated I was at the time.

Actually, I was lawn-darting just about every freaking hole. And somehow, through all of my laser-guided teeshots, I managed to make one freaking birdy putt...one. The one I lipped out, and was a few inches from the hole. One...yeah, that sat really well with me alright...one.
