Denver, COLORADO (Ticker) - In a move that head coach Art Shell called "the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back," backup right tackle Chad Slaughter was had to hire a taxi after being booted from the team's charter flight home following their 13-3 loss at the Denver Broncos Sunday night.

In an inpromptu press conference, Shell explained how "Slaughter went straight to the tarmac without even showering" in an attempt to be the first on the plane home. "The rest of team was still getting undressed and [Slaughter] was already in first class listening to his iPod; that's the fifth [expletive deleted] time tonight he's been the first [expletive deleted] to move," Shell said.

Slaughter, 28, had four costly false-start penalties in the loss, Oakland's fifth of the season and could not be reached for comment after he was last seen hailing a taxi at the newly-renovated Denver International Airport.

Once upon a time I used to go sleepless if Oakland was in the middle of a ...... three game losing streak.
