Darkhorse AL batting champ.

Robinson Cano. He's a handfull of AB's (25 or so) short right now but is hitting .338. Mauer is at .344 and Jeter is at .340. Cano has been on a flat out tear since he came off the DL on Aug 8. (59/164 a .360 avg. 7 HR 43 RBI)

The Yanks don't have much to play for other than securing home field throughout the AL playoffs. Mauer is going to the tougher at bats since the Twins still have some work to do. I'd still favor him though...he's be in the lead for seemingly several months now.

Jeter will have a harder time overcoming him as he has over 100 more AB's than Mauber. He needs to go 3/4 - 4/4 every night for a the avg to jump 5 -6 points. Mauer though has dropped from .370 to .344 obviously from getting worn down catching. Watch Cano though, Mattingly says that he'll be winning battings titles soon.
