Washougal MX National

Post by Trampis »

The stepson and I made it to the Washougal Nat. this past Sunday to see the GOAT(Ricky Carmichael) make one more go around before heading into somewhat retirement.

Air times on OLN are 3pm pacific this Sat. for the Motocross(450f) class and 2pm pacific this coming Monday for the Lites class(250f).

With over 27,000 spectators all over the track it was quite the happening.Perfect overcast 70 degree weather was great also.

Ricky got bad starts both motos and had to work his way to the front to pass James Stewart who battled his heart out. RC made the pass and got the win in the first moto and then in the second moto made the pass on James with a few laps to go.Then,Ricky mysteriously wipes out over a low speesd single jump in the middle of the track, letting James back by for the second moto win and the overall! The whole track let out a collective WOOOAAA! when Ricky went down. Watch for the nose high down hill landing that Stewart does in that second moto after getting passed by RC. Truely balls out maneuver to try and repass Ricky.

Chad Reed looked fast as well but pooped out at about the twenty minute mark of each moto.

The litesclass was all about Andrew Short as he won both motos.Josh Grant was riding fast as was local guy Ryan Villipoto.

Anyways, try and at least catch the Motocross class on Saturday afternoon on OLN.
