Is that when Gary Betteman and the NHL call a news conference to announce the cancellation of this season,

Not a single member of the media shows up to cover it.

I would rather all of the sports media show up and collectively, in an extremely sarcastic manner, act completely surprised and like this announcement is completely out of left field. In fact I would love someone to yell "STOP THE PRESSES!!!"

It wouldn't be hard to pull off as the modern-day media have a pack mentality anyway........

What if it was one of those highly strategic announcement the NHL has got us used to?

NHL: Ok we will make an announcement on Monday Feb 14th 2005

My one wish is that someone shows up and tell me there will be NHL hockey this year.

As long as I don't hear the phrase, "no further meetings are planned but the lines of communication remain open".

Yesterday I came to a realization that I'm probably a much happier person this winter, not having to go through the emotional rollercoaster of my team winning and losing. Maybe life IS better without hockey!! :?
