The Da Vinci Code, set to open in theatres next week, is a betrayal of Islam and should be boycotted, a Calgary Muslim leader says.
Sayed Soharwardy, president of the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada, said the film and bestselling novel it's based on mocks his religion by questioning one of Islam's most important prophets: Jesus Christ.
"Dan Brown used the real Jesus to propagate his fabricated re-search," he said."This kind of movie is not frequent but if we don't stand up to these movies, they'll become more frequent."
The movie, which opens May 19, suggests Jesus had a child with Mary Magdalene and the ancient bloodline still exists, a secret fiercely protected by a sect of the Catholic church.
Soharwardy said because the film taints the notion of Jesus -- the most oft-mentioned prophet in the Qur'an -- as pure and sinless, it could convince people the story is real.
The Islamic Supreme Council, which has about 200 local members, will hold its Da Vinci Code protest starting at 2 p.m., May 19 at the Al Madinah Calgary Islamic Centre at 5700 Falsbridge Drive, N.E.

I wish those freaks would rip anyone who profits from this movie a new a-hole, but this is just to much for me to grasp.
WTF???Sayed Soharwardy, president of the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada, said the film and bestselling novel it's based on mocks his religion by questioning one of Islam's most important prophets: Jesus Christ.
Is this guy trying to be funny, or do Muslims actually view Christ as a Prophet?
Since When?
I'm still a tad numb from reading that.
Is Jesus supposed to be the Muslims' Prophet who was sent down from Heaven to bestow knowledge and inspiration upon Islam when it comes to decapitations?
I don't get this at all...Mention Jesus around those freaks and they go into unholy lather mode...Islam_Tard had to be assing it up for his crew.
Hollywormwood crapping on the Holy Bible is easier for me to take then reading Stone_Age_Tard mention Jesus Christ and Islam is the same sentence.
Sorry Sayed, but your peoples actions speak louder then your empty words.
