Way under.

If you haven't noticed... the economy sucks.

This movie will be lucky to make 40-45 million on the first weekend.

I'd say it'll do less than 40.

I'd say at least $80 mil. I'd go see it myself, but I'm going to be here:

I'm just going to educate myself on how the enemy thinks.

San Clemente Island is about 60 miles off the San Diego coast. That pic is looking pretty much from the NW to the SE. What you see is a Navy airstrip. They do a lot of training (SEALS, etc) there. The southern third or so is a gunnery range, the rest is basically a nature preserve. There's a small cove on the western side of the island a couple miles south from the end of the airstrip where there are some patrol boats and a pier. You can go down to the pier at night and watch the seals chasing the flying fish. Around the point from there is a campground that they let the Boy Scouts use. The hike across the island to the one sandy beach on the other side is about 4 miles, and the beach is very cool - a little sand and a lot of big rocks and tide pools. The whole island is about 20 miles long.

A couple of pics I took last year:

Down by the beach:

View from the top, about as far south as you can go before getting into the restricted area:

Easily over. X men 2 hit the $85mm mark and it was a lousy movie. Passion of the Christ was at $83mm. Because people won't have to read fucking subtitles they'll go see this movie just to laugh at the Vatican once again.

That and Tom Hanks is a money magnet.

Knee-grow please. MI3 did 48 opening weekend and it would have been higher had Cruise not gone off the grid. I am going to say $60 million.
