Weekend Roll Call 1-27-24

Post by kcdave »

Here's a new jam I found a couple of weeks ago.
I really like these guys.

I found a funny meme this week that really needs to be
shared before I get to anything else today ....

Image

Bet that frosted most of your balls, one way or the other.

The weather in FOC is still pretty much fucked for grill work
and I rolled out of the rack a little earlier this morning than I
cared to, so I will be rambling a bit this morning. I am just
going to throw some shit out here that caught my eye lately.

I know most of you saw this guy earlier in the week.

Image

I would be remiss by not mentioning him, but no pile on here.
I never chose his path, but I'd be a damn liar if I said I had
never gone full retard after a shitty Chiefs game. It takes
a lot of heart to remain in the Bills Mafia after all of their
years of cock teasing.

Check out this guy if you haven't seen it already this week...

You know what they say ..thou doth protest too much

No telling what kind of freakery this gem has going on. If the local
media does some poking around, I am sure they will find many
skeletons in that dudes closet. As fucked up as my state is and
with as many magatards that we currently have, I am not aware
of any asshole trying to fuck with our porn. What up d-town?
Are any of your magatard buds going down this road?

I am not sure what K's status is, but it would appear that he is on
permanent vacation. With that, I guess it's time to determine who
is now the boards most annoying, handwringing twat. Screwy had this
in the bag, but Diego has really made a strong push in passed week
with woke nonsense and lack of humor in the fat fuck thread.
Feel free to cast your votes here.

Taking Vaghub to the city today and pick up some vittles early.
Nothing planned for this evening, so it may be a good time to
get some liquor in her and have some fun with whatever comes
up.

Tomorrow of course, will be all about a couple of games.
In the late game we have the Niners and Lions.
The latest and most up to date odds, (unlike the old, outdated ones
used here by certain folks)
currently have the Niners favored
by 7.5 points. That's a ton of points friends. Too much for my liking
and this seems like a no-brainer. Take Det and the points all day long.
Deebo is dinged, so look for McCaffrey to run like the wind on the
weak as Lion run def. O/U for him is currently 86.5 yards. Take the
over and make little bit of pocket change for yourself. I like the
current wave that Det is on, and pick them to win outright though.

Det 28
SF 24

The early game features KC @ Bmore. This is where I would paste the
quote I made and have shared a few times that the Chiefs are the most
overlooked and dangerous team in the playoffs, but some knob (Biggie)
frowns upon that. So, you will have to scroll back to previous WRC's to
find that quote.
The line opened at Bmore -2.5 and sits currently at 4. Y'all that like to play
the game HERE
can't get those odds however. You are stuck playing whatever odds that were
given earlier in the week. Pay your mortgage picks right here baby! Do
you really think a P. Mahomes team is going to lose by 4? Nope, ain't
happening. The boys in red are fired the fuck up and looking to add
another Lamar Hunt trophy to the case. The Defenders of the Red Faith
are ready to head back out to Arrowhead West.

Image

Dudes, Donkey Dick himself... aka Chris Jones has a $1mill incentive riding on this
game. Pacheco, T. Kelce and Rice are going to be catching, and running like the
wind. Patty M is 6 and 0 when facing the leagues #1 ranked def.
That ugly fucking L. Jackson will inevitably get loose a few times, but Nick, Drue and
Willie will keep him contained for the most part. Sneed, Reed and McDuffie will lock
the receivers as they have all year.
CHIEFS WIN BABY! The last game of the year will feature the same two teams as
the first game. KC vs Det. This time - they WILL catch the fucking ball and win.

KC 24
Bmore- 17

Happy Weekend, Y'all.

The board has become more readable lately. Thankfully every thread hasn't devolved into nazi name calling. And props to Rootbeer for a couple of the best posts that I've seen in awhile.

Life sure dealt him a weird hand but he played it better than I would have. If there ever was a genetic 2-7 off-suit it's that kid's unfortunate mix of jewfro, rosacea, pumpkin head, and permanent fat layer.

Pretty much. All the conservative cranks who post in WSJ comment sections swore they were never watching the NFL again after the league had the nerve to put a playoff game on streaming. Then the league went out and posted record ratings all weekend.

IN---- still do not give a rat's ass about the NFL. Ready for some baseball. Props to Joe Mauer for making it into the HOF.

Yeah what the hell happened to that massive boycott of the NFL? I think I'm the only one who is still not watching any NFL for any reason!

I boycotted before Kapernog took a shit on America and the NFL started forcing the "Black National Anthem" on everyone and forcing white guilt.

But apparently the rule is "boycott anything woke.....except for our precious NFL."

So fuck the NFL and while I'm at it, fuck the Broncos too.

On a lighter note, my oldest son turns 15 today!

He is having some buddies over for pizza and then we will be taking them to a tactical laser tag session. It's not the watered down type of laser tag you find at those family fun center casinos. This is the closest you can come to actual military combat without using real artillery.

Then tonight, my parents will be joining us and going to TopGolf for dinner and an overpriced "driving range on steroids" hour.

Come Monday, rack seeing the sun for the first time in 2 weeks!

If you were the operator of 3BB, and you wanted the game to be set up where our participants here at T1B could make their picks based on lines, at many multiple odds-making sites, that were changing throughout the week, how would you do that?

Going to a memorial service this afternoon for my wife’s ex-husband’s brother. Does that sound strange? I guess maybe it is but she got married when she was 17, divorced at 27 (which was 45 years ago). We’ve been married for almost 37. So he’s been out of the picture for a long time, and kicked the bucket about 15 years ago. My wife and her brother went to HS with all those siblings (there are two left). All still live in the area and have remained friends, and my stepdaughter is close with all of them. I get along great with the whole group and we party occasionally. George, the one who recently died, is probably the only one I know (Smackie Chan excluded) who knows knew more about classic R&R, and had more viny, than I do. Also a shit ton of great concert anecdotes. So, yeah, I’m seriously bummed that the guy is gone. My stepdaughter is coming out from NYC and staying with us for a few days.

Supposed to be 79 degrees here today, so a nice day for the memorial. We’re getting hit by another atmospheric river on Wednesday night, so we’ll be barrening down the hatches mid-week.

Monterey, CA for an industry conference this weekend. Been about 10 yrs since I've been here and it is still as I remembered... awesome. Found a nice 'divish' local bar and enjoyed chatting with a local about hockey, among many other things. Was sure to buy him a round before I left even though he is an Islander fan and remembered Adam Graves breaking Mario's wrist with a wicked, deliberate slash.

Many meetings tomorrow and Monday, then some time off here... looking forward to it.

If you have a chance, check out Point Lobos. Probably the most spectacular place on earth. Well, at least one of them. Last time we went there, in September, it was too packed to even get in in the morning. So we drove down to Big Sur and had lunch at Nepenthe, came back by at about 1:00 pm and had the place almost to ourselves for the rest of the afternoon.

'tart I'd rather be kicked in the deek than run such a game.
If I did though .....
I would likely pick a site... Draft Kings just
for instance, and post the opening odds immediately after the
conclusion of MNF. From there, pick a designated time of day,
lets say noon each day, and repost the daily odds. They may be exactly the
same, or changed. Any poster that made his picks prior to the reposting
would be locked in. If you took GB on Tuesday -5 at ATL and Jordan Love
got hurt in practice later that day, and the odds dropped to -2 on Wed,
you are still locked in w/ GB-5. Ideally, you would also have the option
to hedge your bet as well at that point.
Practical, feasible, and something to expect from someone running a free
contest on a chat board? Probably not.

fwiw, to anyone that has not wagered yet ....
Chiefs-Ravens is now Bmore -4.5
and
Det-SF fell back to SF -7.

Seriously?

This isn’t a gambling site. Nobody’s betting here. It’s a chat board game with like a dozen players.

King cakes are a definite thing here this time of year. But just as you don't wear Mardi Gras beads outside of Mardi Gras season, you likewise do not eat king cake outside the season.

My daughter in North Carolina was quite disturbed that they don't have king cakes there. So she made her own. Proud of her, she did a good job:

Image

Image

They are everywhere here. The little grocery store down the street probably has over a dozen different flavors they make. Bavarian cream and raspberry cream cheese are my favorites lately but you always want to try different ones.

There usually a small plastic baby in the king cake (king cake referring to the 3 kings, and the baby is the baby Jesus). Whoever gets the baby gets good luck, and also is responsible for bringing the next king cake to the office or event.

Image

If you ever get a chance, come to south Louisiana for the last week of Mardi Gras, you will definitely remember it. A bit later today, we're going to the Mystic Krew of Mutts parade, a low key event where dogs are the focus.

Roux sent me a King Cake several years ago (maybe more than several?) for winning one of the pools. A little strange looking but it tasted great. And there was an extra prize baked in. The good luck must have worked…because I’m still around to tell about it. 8)

I think the main point of that meme is the question of what happened to the people who promised to never watch the NFL again because of players taking a shit on the flag and the American National Anthem and the league forcing white guilt.

My own wife and even my own parents, all big time Republicans, never once boycotted and still watch any game they can and pretend to be fans of a team. They deny any NFL wrong doing and think the league is still legit.

I am clearly in the minority when it comes to telling the NFL to take its two-hand touch style of play and fuck off.

That is a completely separate question. The question is who exactly is "threatened" by Taylor Swift attending a feetsball game? Anybody? Well, except for Diego who is frightened by vaginas.

Your “irony” comment makes no sense regardless.
