Weekend Roll Call 1-20-24
First time rolling a Reba vid ...
but the honor is deserved following the announcement
that she will be singing the anthem for LVIII.
Hard to believe it's 2024 and the woke crowd hasn't
pounced on a song about a mom whoring out her kid.
Along with EV's, the polar vortex has finally shut down
dave's grill biz for a few days. I am at a complete standstill
until the weather warms a tad. Tempest tells me it is
currently -4. Someone please tell HHO that this weather
is not conducive to my nicely landscaped yard, my opulence
or my grills.
With little else to do, I will be heading to the gym soon to get
in a good run, and spend a little time on the tower of death.
(Stair climber.) I hate that fucking thing, but I will enjoy a
good soak in the hot tub before venturing back out into the cold.
Afterwards, I will take Vaghub to the city for some honeydo's,
lunch and pickup some of KC's finest bbq for dinner this evening.
The rest of the weekend will be focused upon 4 games.
I didn't do all that well on my picks last week, but I hope to
rebound with a better effort this week.
First up - Texans @ Ravens. Bmore favored by 9.5
Not a fan of Lamar Jackson's overrated ass. He may have done
enough to win MVP again, but I am not impressed. Take the
Texans and the points without a doubt, and I expect an outright
win.
GB @ SF AGAIN! Seems like these two face off every year.
9'ers favored by 9.5 as well. That's a whole lot of points
and while I am taking SF to win, they will not cover. Betting
folks, take GB and the points.
Bucs @ Lions - I do not have a good feel for this game. Lions are
favored by 6.5 points. I could go either way very easily but would
not bet a nickel on either.
Having to make a pick though - Lions win, but will not cover.
Chiefs @ Bills- Bettors take Chiefs and points, and Chiefs will win
outright. Someone tell Biggie (whoever that is) that I will be posting
that quote again, just as I did last week after KC's win.
Much has been made about this being Mahome's first road playoff game.
Some of the talking heads actually think he will melt. LOLOL!
Britney's hubby will feed off the hostile crowd and excel. Travis Swift
is long overdue for a tuddy. The Buffalo D is dinged. Chiefs avoid the
dumb penalties, dropped passes, win and will host ANOTHER AFC
championship game next weekend.
HOU
SF
Det
KC
M.o.t.W.
This may have started as a military thing, but I am of the opinion
that its just a standard unit of measure these days.
Happy weekend, Y'all.

Must not be quarterbacky enough.
When I die, I want my ashes pressed into a record album. That is my vinyl request.

Wife and I are in our new (to us) downsized home and love it. And we're looking at hot tubs. Any of y'all have one? Any suggestions as to makes and models?
Happy Mardi Gras. Fun time of year to live in south Louisiana.

Re: Weekend Roll Call 1-20-24
We grew to love our hot tub.
When we bought our previous house over 10 years ago, it came with one but it needed a lot of fixing up to get it to proper working order. We regretfully spent a couple thousand to fix a hot tub that was about 20 years old at the time when the same amount could have gotten us a brand new one from a hot tub outlet store.
We did get 8 great years out of that hot tub but more problems arose and it was coming time to sell that house and move to St. Louis. So we had 1800GotJunk come and haul it away in order for us to improve that concrete slab and help sell the house.
At our new house, we used some of the profits from the sale of our previous house to be able to buy a brand new one!
Hot tubs aren't all that popular around here as most people favor swimming pools. Those are the ultimate money pit. My aunt has an in-ground pool and she keeps on pumping thousands into it to keep it in working order. She does have family over a lot during the summer so it does get used quite a bit.
But we love ours! Such low maintenance costs and only 1-2 water changes are needed annually. Just keep up with the chemicals and it's great to have year round.
We have a Wallis hot tub. It officially seats 6 with a lounger but seats 3 comfortably. If we got 6 people in our hot tub, we would have to know them very well because it would be quite "intimate" in there with a lot of "footsie" being played!

Fine by me. The faster we get through January and February the faster we get back to boating and floating season!

Good info, thanks. Wallis is one of the brands we're looking at. And I'm thinking to get a big one so a 6 seater fits 3 comfortably is nice to know as well.

Hey, dtown, if you ever want to turn the hot tub water green I know a guy who knows a guy. Cost you a few grand but he's really good. You could also get a bunch of toddlers to pee in it for free.

Why would I want to turn it green?HighPlainsGrifter wrote: βSat Jan 20, 2024 4:55 pm Hey, dtown, if you ever want to turn the hot tub water green I know a guy who knows a guy. Cost you a few grand but he's really good. You could also get a bunch of toddlers to pee in it for free.
Only way to turn ours green is to set the LED lights to the green color.

We've had our Wallis for 2 years and not a single issue. It was the best quality without being overpriced.Roux wrote: βSat Jan 20, 2024 4:51 pmd-townmike wrote: βSat Jan 20, 2024 4:30 pm

All the insufferable wealthy retired guys I know are doing it.
Re: Weekend Roll Call 1-20-24
Iβve had three in ground pools since 1992 in LowCal and Henderson, NV. Never heard of anyone wanting to turn their water green. Green water is usually a bad sign.
We built our current pool in 2000. 36,000 gallons, including attached spa and slide/waterfall. Also a salt water chlorine generator. I always did my own maintenance for the first 23 years. Not that big of a deal. We had it remodeled last year with a new PebbleTec surface, new lights, new controls and a heat pump heater. I decided to hire a weekly maintenance service cause Iβm getting lazy.

Biggie is 1-0 so far in the divisional round.
Today he has...
TB/DET over 46.5
KC/BUF over 46
Against the spread, Biggie sits at .533 on the season.

Biggie has proven himself for years by playing 3BB here at good ol' T1B. You, on the other hand, threw a temper tantrum because I clowned you like three ring circus you are and never submitted any picks. Except for your ol "Lamar is overrated." Which got shoved back up your ass.
Have a great day, Dave!

You chided Biggie for busting your b@lls, while seemingly not making any picks himself.
I was merely pointing out to you that Biggie is in fact making picks this weekend, and that he has been making picks against the spread all season.
Enjoy the game today, dave!

Re: Weekend Roll Call 1-20-24
You're the attention whore, not me.
But if history is any guide, you can make a good living by fading your picks and you've probably got the wrong side of both games. So here's some apples:
DET -6.5 (although I'm not sure where this line comes from. It's been -6 all week, including 30 minutes before kickoff. Must be a kcdork line shift lol).
BUF -2.5 (FUCK the Chiefs)
Enjoy, weirdo.
Re: Weekend Roll Call 1-20-24
Push.
But you win the one that mattered, so I concede this round.

Spent my weekend remodeling the interior of our farmers market. Getting tired of blowing concrete dust out of my nose. Whoever poured these pads needs to be slapped.
Ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby.

Well, I get that. Itβs a personal choice but, if not for your own safety, then at least wear one to protect others from spreading your own concrete dust.

You misspelled OSHA but I see you working.
More concrete grinding today. Such a mess.
Ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby.
Re: Weekend Roll Call 1-20-24
I googled it on the CDC website and they quoted OSHA. If they had just linked OSHA you might have a case here, but I think Iβm on pretty solid ground. Your nose is built to filter that shit out. When you get a pile of black boogers in the shower you know youβve probably accomplished something.
Re: Weekend Roll Call 1-20-24
Mmkay.
What happens now? Do you get a red ribbon or something while I stand in the corner?
Ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby.
Re: Weekend Roll Call 1-20-24
Blue.
And you donβt need to stand in the corner. Just publicly acknowledge my awesomeness.

They're talking about actual work which generates particulate matter here. As a useless eater who produces nothing of any tangible value, you wouldn't have any relevant insight.
