Weekend Roll Call 1-28-23

Post by kcdave »

Here is something new and somewhat interesting. Sorta punk, sorta rock,
sorta Lady Gaga.  While it's nothing close to the harder edge I would prefer,
I do no hate it, especially when you listen to much of the garbage out there today.

Should be decent most of the day here, so lots of the same old,
gym, honeydo's, grill work, etc. Turning much colder tonight and
for the next week though. Aside from that, it's all about the NFL.
Conference championship weekend is upon us.

We have the makings for 2 great games.  Even the odds makers are in agreement
w/ their close spreads. In the first game ..... I am taking the Eagles purely for home
field advantage. SF at home, or even on a neutral field would likely get my pick otherwise.

Second game,  I am going homer as you should expect, but seriously ... only after
much reflection and mind fucking deliberation.  At a quick glance, you have Cincy
winning the last 3 games in a 13 month span.  Impressive from a distance.
But a closer look reveals a few warts.

The Chiefs lost all 3 of those games by 3 points.  There we no ass kickings.
Hell, none them were even decided before 5 minutes or less was left on the clock.
All nail biters that went down to the bitter end, with one going to overtime.
Cincy had horse shoes and rabbits feet in their asses every game and a little help
from the zebras as well in a couple of situations.
Meanwhile, this week, Cincy players and politicos, and virtually every single sports talking ass,
will lead you to believe that Cincy has owned KC with complete beatdowns 3 times in a row.
That is not the case.  KC is going to put a clown suit on all of these fools.

KC vs Philly in 2 weeks.

Meme of the week

Happy weekend, y'all.

IN. Saw my cardiologist yesterday and he says I'm doing good for almost 84 years. Guess I have a few more miles in me yet.
No care about the NFL. College hoops on the tube will do. Wish they had more college hockey on. Go Black Bears.
Enjoy.
Oh---there was a mini troll/clone/T1B stop in Venice FL on Wed. Could be more info coming.

^^^^ that is an awesome display of talent on stage. Prince tops it off with his solo parts and when he tosses his guitar in the air and it seems to vanish. Supposedly he tossed it to a sound technician on the set to give it to Oprah Winfrey who was in the audience. Have you seen the "director's cut" of this, with more cool camera shots?

In.

The married version of the above meme should be "when you shave your junk and she's "too tired" or "has a headache."

My oldest turned 14 yesterday! He wanted to go to TopGolf so we took him to our only location for dinner and a half hour of doing something resembling golf.

If you've never been to a TopGolf location, here's how it can be summed up: a driving range on steroids. You can do the exact same thing at a driving range but everything is twice as expensive if not more. You have these cool computers at each bay that offer certain types of games and keep score as well. I think the golf balls have chips inside them because it also keeps track of yardage even if you don't hit the targets. Don't expect to win any long drive contests. The far screen is 225 yards away.

It's a cool place, they definitely attract crowds but it's very gimmicky and be prepared to shell out way more than you would even playing 18 with a cart at your local muni.

Today is him hanging out with his buddies doing laser tag at another overpriced place called Main Event. At least they mostly stay out of the underage casino that is known as an "arcade" these days.
Don't blame me, I voted for Trump

Got to Costco a little early this week so now I’m standing in line waiting for the door to open. Already went to the farmers market. Petco is next. Then home. I be getting the weed whacker out this afternoon for the first time this year. After the recent three weeks of rain we will be experiencing Weedageddon this spring. Next week I’ll be dusting the cobwebs off the lawn tractor to get about 1/2 acre of weeds. Last year I think I only mowed once. This year will be very different. We’re even expecting some more rain tomorrow.

Completely relaxing today. Didn't walk into my front door until about 2 am last night... week long biz trip to Yuma, AZ. Making suet for the birds, Pitt BBall at 4pm, Penguins hockey at 7pm. If I find a bit of energy above and beyond what it takes to simply make suet, maybe some laundry will get done. I'm thinking fat chance on that though.

YES. I was hoping it showed what happened to Prince's guitar. A funny shot is the stage hand pushing him so he didn't fall off the stage. Dahnni Harrison is beside himself. Tom Petty looks like he is saying "it's all yours Prince."
