According to Dr. Catherine Smallwood, senior emergency officer at the WHO, there is little evidence to suggest that the disease will remain confined to gay and bisexual communities, NBC reported.
More severe cases could become apparent if the virus spreads to more immunologically vulnerable groups like young children, pregnant women and the immunocompromised.
It is not uncommon for a virus outbreak to start in one particular group or setting before spreading more widely in the general population, Smallwood said, noting that health authorities could take cues from the early findings.
"This really might be the canary in the coal mine that's alerting us to a new disease threat that could spread to other groups," she continued...

Please provide an “official” source defining a “technical” recession and provide some insight about what it actually implies. If you have any idea.
You do realize that the quarterly GDP comprises a lot of factors, but still doesn’t necessarily reflect the entire economy. Don’t you? What about the record low unemployment rate? When the Fed starts raising interest rates to counter inflation a natural effect is a slowdown in the economy. So which way do you want it- lower inflation or more growth?
Probably the biggest factor affecting today’s GDP number is the slowdown in the housing market, which was way overheated. So is this a good thing or a bad thing? Or do you even care, as long as you can claim another phony “doom” indicator.
Some of you people are like fucking three-year-olds. You don't like what's going on - interest rates are too low!! economy is out of control!!! inflation!!!!!

On Saturday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and the city's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
commissioner, Ashwin Vasan, declared monkeypox a public health emergency.
About 150,000 New Yorkers are currently at risk of exposure in the city, which officials are calling
the "epicenter of the outbreak."

with people who have monkeypox. Those with weakened immune systems, pregnant people and children
under the age of 8 may be at heightened risk for severe outcomes, according to the CDC.
The good mayor says only 150,000 folks are currently at risk in NYC, and yet we are told that the virus could
hit ANYONE who has close contact with someone who has the pox.
And the outward body sores can come later in a person's infection, so the virus can easily be spread unknowingly, which it obviously is.
