26 Elton John - "Candle in the Wind" (Live)

The answer to the question, what if injecting saccharine was a song?

Also I could tell this wasn’t a normal show. Way more “I didn’t come here to listen to the same shit every rock station plays” songs than usual.

I wasn't terribly pleased with my selections either. Played more '80s tunes than normal and fewer recent releases (which I normally don't play much anyway). Just happens that way occasionally. I'd say maybe 1/4 of the songs I played could be considered "same shit every rock station plays,” which is certainly more than usual, but even those weren't in the "Life in the Fast Lane," "Stairway to Heaven," or "Dust in the Wind" category except maybe 11, 61, 65, & 76. I'll just chalk it up to THC withdrawals. A more complete list of questionable choices might include:

11 The Allman Brothers Band - "Statesboro Blues" (Live)
16 John Fred & His Playboy Band - "Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)"
22 Little Richard - "Tutti Frutti"
24 Main Ingredient - "Everybody Plays the Fool"
25 Musical Youth - "Pass the Dutchie"
26 Elton John - "Candle in the Wind" (Live)
27 Soft Cell - "Tainted Love"
28 Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band - "Sunburst"
34 The White Stripes - "Icky Thump"
35 Hoobastank - "Crawling in the Dark"
38 Prince & The Revolution - "When Doves Cry"
39 R.E.M. - "(Don't Go Back To) Rockville"
45 Bob Dylan - "Blowin' in the Wind"
49 Sly & the Family Stone - "I Want to Take You Higher"
53 Thompson Twins - "Hold Me Now"
58 The Who - "Won't Get Fooled Again"
61 Jimi Hendrix - "Fire"
65 David Bowie - "Ziggy Stardust"
76 Rush - "Subdivisions"
81 Steam - "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye "

46 The Police - "Rehumanize Yourself"

Excellent show so it’s a tuff one but you didn’t take my advise to play a live song if you were going to play the Police, resulting in the closest thing to a dud all night.

Nice review...thanks. I don't have much of The Police in my library. Spaced out & didn't get something live from them before showtime. Even though no one in the band has a bday coming up til Oct (Sting's is the same as my granddaughter's, Andy Summers' is on NYE), I found a pretty decent live song from them for next show.

The problem with having a week off is that those of
us who listen every week start to worry that it’s
never going to happen again, and the show is done,
especially with the “new management”.

That has everybody on edge. We call and text and PM and
our requests must be played! Not every listener is willing to
wait around until the 4th hour to hear their song, and most
nod off after the first Wolfie set. Oh well, let’s see what happens.

Tonight!

When I told you about George’s BD I thought maybe you would start the show with the Jetson’s theme. I have never heard THAT abortion, and hope to never again. But since I brought it up, I’m going to take the L on this one.
