Best acoustic guitar under 1000

Post by EAP »

I'm looking at a few acoustic guitars.
Gibson's new G 45 is 999$
Yamaha's LL16
Yamaha LJ 16
The new Yamaha TA
Trans acoustic series.

The neat thing about the Yamaha is the solid rosewood construction.

But I'd like to know if anyone's played these models and can give their personal views on which to buy.

Find a used Martin that hasn't sunk into the sound hole and still has a low enough action. Don't be afraid to buy used...Take your time with checking everything out on the guitar. As long as the saddle hasn't lifted and there are no noticeable loose braces, you should be good.

Unfortunately, I'm too poor to be able to afford "expensive".
:(

I get by the best I can on a budget and I'm always on the look-out for deals.
Somewhere out there, there's a '50 Broadcaster with my name on it...

I heard the martin has a deeper darker tone.
The Taylor is brighter.
Gibson makes an entry level called the G 45 studio.
Made here in Montana!
They use a solid spruce top and solid walnut for the back and sides
Yamaha is a jap company that makes it's guitars in China.
So they can use solid rosewood for the back and sides!

My budget is between 899.00. US dollars and 1,500 us dollars.
I want beautiful resonance.
Good action and well built
I want something that I'd be proud to leave in my will.

There is an import ban on rosewoods, if I'm not mistaken...Pau Ferro is pretty much taking over.

Current era Gibson just makes me weep. You can get a Suhr or a PRS that will smoke Gibson's "custom shop" offerings at almost half the price.
People will just keep paying for a name, with nothing to back it up. Also, their customer service and consumer relations is in the garbage.

Best guitar for the money.

It even comes with a black padded “gig bag.”

Exactly. There are a lot of people saying now that even though the parts may not be quite as good, the fucking Epiphones are actually constructed better. Hell - a lot of the guitars made over in the Far East are a lot better now. A lot of them are better than those made in America.

When I bought my last Strat a couple of years ago, I tried out the American made guitars, and ended up taking the MIM version. Why? Because it "felt" better all the way around, and it cost damned near half the price. Some people might say "well - the American version sounds better". That's bullshit. 90-95% of your sound is coming out of the amp and speakers. You can make a $20 Casio sound good through a good amp...
Guess what?

My search is over.
Your search is over.

The epiphone masterbilt series of acoustic guitars is DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR, the best you can buy

Just got the DR 500. It's tone fit and finish rivals guitars costing 3,000 and 4,000.
The tone is lovely and warm. Like a beautiful woman.

But I digress.

Do your research.

And go put your hands on one of these masterbilts.
They are made in china with strict quality control.
And then brought back here for the final finish.

How many overseas built guitars
Are finished here?

Trust me.
