Re: Just Die Baby

That's what makes it tough, War Wagon. His Hall of Fame worthy contributions to the NFL, helping it move toward the league we love, are indisputable. His leadership, rebellion, and willingness to buck the establishment while the Raiders won 3 Super Bowls and earning countless playoff appearances are...

Re: Buff-Oak

Like some of the Raiders players might have done, I came out of halftime a little cocky. Told some friends this is gonna be the first 2-0 start since 2002. Started feeling relaxed as the second half began. The cursing started full bore as Buffalo took their first lead and by the end of the mess, I f...

Re: Monday

I'm looking for a breakout year for Jacoby Ford (although he might miss the Buffalo game with a sore hamstring). He was solid as a rook last year and it's clear by the Raiders' opening offensive plays in Dungver that Hue Jackson has built a number of plays around Ford's skills. He scored 7 TDs last ...

Re: Seymour dealt to Raiders

With Hue Jackson already under contract, Al doesn't have to make a move unless he thinks another team will offer Jackson a HC spot. That seems unlikely, though it's hard to tell if the 49ers were seriously considering him or using him to fulfill the Rooney Rule during their pursuit of Harbaugh. I'm ...

Re: Loser Pool - week 9 results week 10 picks

Yeah, I agree that ties suck. Although I had Dallas in mind before the thread was created, when I saw my opponent's pick, I considered changing it. A Dallas win seems as improbable as it comes with regard to the NFL but anything is possible. Sudden death is better than a tie. Going forward, it my op...

Re: Chiefs vs Raiders

Just like we all predicted, the top two rushing teams had their way with the opposing defense all day. Oh, wait. So much for predictions, unless you were the one guy in the world who thought a little known 4th round pick was going to be the game breaker. We needed Jacoby Ford (148 yards through the ...

Re: Chiefs vs Raiders

The Raiders probably aren't going to stop KC's running game but a major key to a Silver & Black win will be slowing it down. If Nnamdi doesn't play, it's tough but not a game breaker since KC doesn't have a great passing game. But they've got to slow down. Thomas Jones is looking like one of the...

Re: Raiduh Fan Retirement Thread

I'd say the real reason is Norv, who's the king of getting less out of more. I'd agree with that. I'm clearly not in any position to pile on Charger fan but that's the one thing I can still rationalize things with in my mind; my team had a winning culture and a record of success during my lifetime,...

Re: Raiduh Fan Retirement Thread

The only positives I can really take from yesterday's game: I. Despite the fact that Houston, minus perhaps the best WR in the game today, could run all day long against the Raiders' defense, the team didn't curl up in a ball and accept their beating. It was still a bad loss, just not the 34-3 kind ...

Re: Tejans @ Raiduhs

Nice analysis from Pop and Coogs. Raiders have a lengthy list of banged up players and Cable's new thing this year is to remain as tight-lipped as league rules allow concerning injury status. Not sure if Murphy will run. DHB now has a groin strain. After those two guys, the remaining WRs on the rost...

Pop, when Frye went down I thought, Uh oh. Forget it. When Russell went down I thought, Hey, we might have a chance with Losman! Who would have guessed Russell would get off the deck and come back in and throw a last minute TD to beat Dungver on their home field? Great win. Major props to the Raider...

Re: About the Raider beatdown of the rented mules on MNF ...

I'm expecting a fairly low scoring game and I'd like to see the Raiders revamped secondary come out of this thing with a couple picks from Cutler. They picked him twice in each game last year. I'd also like to see Derrick Burgess climb over rookie Ryan Clady for a sack or two. Walker's hamstring lea...

Alvis just signed Adam Archuleta. He just signed Ashley Lelie too. He'll only tease you & break your heart, Raiderfan. He wont be asked to do much as a flanker. Basically he was brought in for his ability to stretch the field. Make no mistake-we are a run team first and foremost, and i'm fine w...

Didn't happen. Never happened. I don't know why his inner circle thought this interview was a good idea. Clearly he believes he can not be caught in a lie. Nice prediction and takes, Pop. Great game of course. Any win against Dungver is great but there were a lot of highlights that made it great. It was nice to see the Silver & Black better than the Donks in just about every phase of the game: running, run defense, passing, play calling, penalties....

0 penalties on the Raiders O-line. It seems like a million years since that last happened. And what got into Sims? He pretty much made Jason Taylor a non-factor.

Don't look now but Oakland has 11 TD's - one less than last year's pathetic offense had all season.

What a win! Miami is crap but I'll take it. What a refreshing change - a Raider win that didn't come down to the last two minutes! I will echo the props being handed out to the O-line. A big RACK to a running Culpepper as well. San Diego fans had week 6 chalked up to an easy W during the preseason. ...
