Had a derecho shoot through Arlington when I lived there. Lots of homes & businesses lost power for awhile. We didn’t because we were on the same power grid as the Pentagon, which was ~ a mile away. Appreciate your tax $$ keeping us juiced up.

Re: Tom Brady roast on Netflix
You have to be really smart and talented to be TRULY funny without dropping too many F bombs. Too many comics use "blue" humor as a crutch. I'm certainly no Puritan, so foul language is fine (I've been known to excessively use it myself) as long as it's employed judiciously and with some ...

Re: Tom Brady roast on Netflix
Started watching it but bailed after Jeff Ross, who's usually $$ at celebrity roasts. Kevin Hart is simply not funny, and while JR dropped a couple of decent blasts, it just seemed like an excuse for 5th graders to say fuck & shit (and gay ) repeatedly. Didn't figure it'd get much better over th...

Rock needs more sax Seeing Dick Parry, who played for Pink Floyd, switch saxes mid-solo is pretty cool. I don’t, as I’ve already said. The only reason I replied is because you accused me of bailing on the thread before I answered your questions. So I answered them.

Re: Pop, you familiar with these books?
I asked Smackie where the center of the earth is and how he knows that. And to post his proof that we are spinning. He chose to bail out of the thread. I chose to disengage for the reason Mikey cited and for the same reason I seldom involve myself in having any sort of serious discussion with you b...

Re: Pop, you familiar with these books?
Some light reading for you to dismiss... The idea that Earth is flat seems to have an enduring hold on human imagination. In the 1830s a commune in Britain, led by British writer Samuel Birley Rowbotham, resurrected the concept as backlash against rapid scientific progress. Members believed that Ear...

I will respond to the rest of your post when I have more time. This may be getting a little too deep into the weeds for you, but can you include in your reply, just to satisfy my curiosity, if you believe in solar systems and if you believe earth is part of one? If so, is our galaxy (if you believe...

Re: Pop, you familiar with these books?
I directed Roux to use Google so he could view the map that many in the flat earth camp think might be reasonably close to reality. I did not tell him to use Google so that Google could lead him to resource #1 on their chosen list that attempts to discredit the map. So Google is good for some thing...

Re: Pop, you familiar with these books?
Google the Gleason's Map...Google manipulates and censors searches. So you direct Roux to use a resource YOU selected, and then criticize what he finds there because it's a shitty resource. Alrighty then. Do you expect that he'd find information more aligned to what you're peddling if he used Yahoo...

Heard Jazzfest shut down the other 13 stages when the Stones played; didn’t want artists performing in front of no audience. Re: In Memory of Dickey Betts
Anyone who didn't expect ^that^ post from Mikey hasn't been paying attention. Once Smackie weighs in with a story about meeting Betts while working for WKMP and DMike asks if his music was better or worse than Drumline I think we can archive this sucker. Can't beat Mikey's story. Closest I can come...
