Maybe for Week One only we should set a Thursday PM deadline for picks. That would allow Thursday and Friday games to be included in Week One. By my count, there are only 33 Saturday/Sunday/Monday games which involve two Division 1-A schools, and including Thursday's and Friday's games would add 8 m...

Those teams playing in the stacked region will never go for it. In all honesty, I don't see any school opposing this format to the extent ND would. In the last few seasons, ND's fan base has made it abundantly clear that they don't want ND joining a conference. I actually take a somewhat dissenting...

I hope Mike Hart has a great Sophomore year at Michigan---- a nice kid and a player !! Don't know him as a kid, but I'm also interested in watching his development as a player. Would like to see Penn State turn the corner, but I honestly don't see it happening as long as JoePa is coaching (sorry, P...

The biggest problem I see with going to performance is scheduling. If it's based on performance, the divisions and conferences would have to be revised every year. That means that you couldn't really firm up your schedule beyond the next season, and it might result in an end to a lot of great rivalr...

Terry, I first found 2003 numbers so that is what I used. The difference from one year to the next is another problem for this proposal. One team who is usually above the 64 mark, but fell below the season they decided to put this in place will bitch and moan and likely go to court to be included. ...

He's a successful business man who has made his own way, unlike Monk Malloy's little toy and wife beater Dave Duerson, who was set up in his job by Malloy and his minions. I'm still pissed at Duerson. Without a doubt, the worst punt returner I have ever seen in 35 years of watching football, bar no...

Attendance would only be used to divide teams into the 64-team divisions, not for purposes of determining playoff seedings. And there was also an alternate proposal to realign the divisions every 5 or 10 years. Fwiw, here's the bottom 10% of Division 1 teams in terms of attendance, along with the to...

First off let's get our facts straight. This site picks the top 64 teams based on attendance, not Sagrin or any other ratings. Here is a quote from the site: Under this new plan, the top 64 schools in the country are selected based on average home attendance figures regardless of current division s...

Terrys conferences has a few teams who are not in the top 64, those not in the top 64 play in the lower division and would have to earn their way in to the upper division. I would rather see those kinds of games than Auburn at home vs the Citadel, let Auburn play Miami; Georgia; Florida State; LSU;...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this sounds remarkably like something Schmick proposed when he first joined us. Perhaps Schmick copied it from this site (or a similar site) without giving them the credit. I don’t like their idea of putting all the top teams of existing conferences (Ex: Texas, OU, A&...

Hows that Jeff Weaver for Kevin Brown trade working out for you guys? Its going ok for us. It wasn't about Brown, for us. It was about getting rid of Weaver. Call it addition by subtraction. My nominations: 10. The Army-Navy game. Sorry, Lefty, but I have to agree with those who mentioned it previously. Yes, this game has scads of tradition, but it's been close to a half-century, at least, since this game was meaningful to the upper echelon of college football, and it still gets plenty ...

I could see the Big East maintianing a 7 game conference schedule. The bottom line is they want ND in as a football member and they would keep 7 games if that is what it took to get ND in. I don't see them inviting Navy as a football only member. The only way that could happen is, if/potentially wh...

The funny thing is you look at Powlus and laugh, but he's still better than anything MSU has ever produced at QB. What's really funny about that is that Michigan State has had plenty of talent at WR over the years, just nobody to get them the ball: Mark Ingram, Brock Middlebrook, Plaxico Burress, G...

The first time I saw Powlus trying in vain to turn the corner on the option, I knew ...

Why should ND be in a conference? Because of the BCS? Talk about the tail wagging the dog. Yes, the BCS is one reason. Their new deal is set up just as any conference members deal is. I don't think the BCS is reason enough to join a conference, particularly when others have stated here their belief...
