What's wrong with that. If they allow it maybe more of the druggies will leave TX and never come back. At ...

Gas just may be the most taxed item in the world. The property owner pays taxes on his land, and if he doesn't also own the mineral rights someone else pays taxes on the mineral rights. These taxes go up when the drilling company puts in the improvements for the drill pad. The pipeline company is ta...

Great news on the Union front locally...

not that we have much union news thankfully, since they are few and far between here in Texas, but the news lately has been great. The first story involved a local rock quarry that had union workers. A few months ago the workers striked over hourly pay and an extra week of vacation. The union though...

BTH, I am certainly not a fan of the recruiting process or the LOI for that matter, but having signed one myself I know for a fact that as long as the athlete qualifies grade wise and doesn't go Randy Moss or Nebraska I back prior to matriculating then the school owes them one year. Now onto the LOI...

Just wanted to clear up one thing on the LOI. Once signed it does hold both parties to a few things. The signer can only practice his or her sport with the team he signed with. The school is obligated to give a scholly to the athlete for one year as long as the athlete meets both the school's and th...

Both Texas and RICE won those titles because of pitching and defense. I still think good pitching trumps good defense even with metal bats.

TEXAS v RICE

Props to Texas for again proving they are our daddy. We sure hurt ourselves with 4 errors, but Texas was pretty dominate. Granted the score was 7-6 but I really thought the umpire was jobing Texas. I can count at least three times that RICE watched strike three yet the umpire never called it. Hell, ...

Just wanted to pass on some info regarding replay to you guys. The NCAA is allowing all Division 1 conferences to experiment with replay this season. You laid out the problem, so where is your suggestion to fix it? By NCAA rule teams are limited to playing 56 games in the regular season, but there is no official start date to the season. So yes, southern teams can start the season earlier because their fields are not under snow. The Big 11 seems ...

On third and ten, teams typically don't blitz their entire secondary I don't think I have ever seen the entire secondary blitz. ;) I understand your points, but I think a better analogy for football is playing a prevent defense until your opponent reaches your 35 yard line. At that point you change...

No doubt Mucho. I am not saying that the official(s) cost anyone a game. They didn't make and take shots, nor did they miss free throws, etc. I am speaking to the fact that some think the official(s) saw the contact and passed on making the call only because it was late in the game.

I have heard the depth issue but it doesn't fly with me. That's like saying we don't defend the passing game well because we don't have fast corners. when everyone talks about defense in basketball they overlook the fact that 95% of teams only play defense on 30% of the court? Leave it to Babs to ignore the fact it was a foul and instead talk about the likelyhood of making the shot. Hey Babs, if dude never gets a chance to take the shot he has a 0% chance of making it.
