I have a Henkel's Professional S knife set with the santoku and bread knives added. I LOVE the santoku but find I often miss the weight of the chef's knife when I'm using it. Thus my very real desire to have the chef's knife with the graton edge.

Best of both worlds! :D

I use a modified Tyler Florence recipe. Not sure how many you're cooking for, but in the small pyrex dish I use, I can get 3 filets in pretty easily... 4 if I really sqeeze. You could use a bigger baking dish and fit as many as you want, you'd just need to increase the couscous and water to fit, and...

I actually only have 2 Calphalon pans, and both are nonstick. One is the anodized variety, and the other is a cheaper coating-type nonstick. The stainless/non-anodized Cuisinart/Calphalon fully clad pans don't have dark interiors. They're just stainless. Those are the ones I use 95% of the time. I l...

all clad is much better than calphalon, IMO. i've managed to buy a few all clad pieces over the years and they are really fantastic. calphalon has never really impressed me that much and i really hate the dark interiors since it casts bad light on the cooking surface of the skillet/pan/whatever. As...

Have fun!! One more thing... When possible, make sure your stove-top cookware is oven-safe. Just remember that the handles get really hot when you do that. Oops. OH! and also... if you have a chance, try a restaurant supply. I haven't used one for cookware, but apparently it's the best place to get ...

My stainless set: Cuisinart Multiclad triple ply stainless. KICK ASS cookware. I LOVE it. It heats very evenly and is just plain SOLID. Beware the fully-clad pans: they are HEAVY. I also have 2 of Cuisinart's slightly lesser line, I don't recall the name... it's nice stainless cookware, with only th...

From what I can tell, Scanpans aren't cast iron.

Just in case there are overpriced cast iron Scanpans:

Most cast iron pans are CHEAP. For cooking burgers, enamel le creuset-style is not needed.

RACK Mikey. The ball and strike count isn't even an official stat, as far as I know. Also, a foul ball is dead if it hits the ground out of bounds, as long as it's past the bases or it stops moving altogether. A foul ball is live if it's caught until the ball is returned to the pitcher and the play ...
