Whenever you buy a bag of kraut there's too much of it to go around, so why not use a bunch of it like you suggested? Start with buttering up a pan on low heat and chucking LOTS of kraut in the pan. Splice a couple dogs and clear an area on the pan so that the dogs can be on the pan but surrounded by the kraut. This works like a charm.


I usually never toast hot dog buns, but in this case you have to, because if you don't, the kraut will end up sogging up the damn bread. So, apply some butter to the insides of the bun and toast away, add plenty of mustard and of course the kraut and maybe some hot sauce (optional). The mustard is NOT optional. You MUST use mustard, and LOTS of it.
