If you end up with Crosby after drafting Ovechkin...that won't be too bad.

I can tell you a hell of lot more about ASP.NET, the perils of leaving port 1433 open on a SQL Server, why "Connection Pooling = FALSE" can be a bad thing, etc.. etc.. than I can about the Caps farm system.

I am so, out of the loop. As they seem to be as well

WAR HOPING FOR AN NHL next year.

ESPN.com news services
NHL players have been told not to expect the league to resume play this season, and possibly next season, according to a report in the Ottawa Sun.
Thanks for the link E.

That sucks. It's tough to follow the Portland Pirate all the way down here.

Has there been any discussion about how the draft will be handled in light of the lockout?

The discussion that I've heard indicates that there won't be a draft as long as the players are locked out.

And the chances are that there will be some sort of season between now and whenever the next draft will be. No way they resolve this thing after any season would be over and before a scheduled draft.

That said, if the next draft was in, say, 2006, the 2005 eligible players would then be 19 years old, not 18 as usual. That would give the league an opportunity to raise the draft age to 19 if they wished, which I've heard that they do.

Personally, I would be in favour of raising the draft age to 19, or better yet, 20, so that teams have a better idea of what kind of player they're choosing. Picking 18 year old kids is almost a crapshoot.

Why don't you come up and go to a game? I'll buy you a beer. I hope to take in a few games as soon as the Pats win the Super Bowl.

As a Redskins fan, it is my moral obligation to cheer for the downfall of Dallas, New York, and Philthadelphia.
