Daylight Savings Time

Daylight Savings Time is supposed to start on Sunday. Will we get an executive order cancelling it sometime between now and then (can't say I would really have a problem with that, TBH)? Maybe an executive order this week but retracting on Monday?

I went with option 4.

I'm looking forward to the odds for the Gulf of Mexico/America. (Maybe Chip can help out there)

His initials are DJT, not DST.

Would be great if DJT got cancelled.

It's Daylight Saving Time. Not Savings.

And it's a stupid idea with its roots in Nazi Germany. End it or make it permanent but stop with the switching.

Oh, then it fits the US perfectly right now.

In a show of bipartisan spirit, maybe we go to a half hour between the two?

I agree that it’s dumb to move the clock.

If there are daily activities that might benefit by changing when they happen, move the fukking event, not the yardstick.

The argument for keeping it makes more sense for those of us unlucky enough to live further away from the equator. Ever been to northern Maine in July? Not sure what time it gets dark, as I’m in bed and asleep by then. Go there in January for some inexplicable reason and it’s pretty much dark by the time you’re finished with lunch.

Dark when you get home from work, or dark when you leave in the morning. Unfortunately you can't have it light all day.

I would prefer standard time 365 but that's just me. Lucky me, I don't have to pay much attention to the clock anymore except for my many doctor's appointments and Friday morning trash pickup. It's the biannual change that's fucked, but I I'd rather have the sun up in the morning.

Good god. The first time a Dem uttered anything about Naziism, it was idiotic. The fact that they continue that idiocy fits perfectly with the demise of their party.

Hitler was a one-nut/no nut(?) corporal in 1916 when it was implemented in Germany and Austria-Hungary.
