Cannibalism not in my future

I still smell my meat burning. Ugh. Nasty. Under no circumstances will I ever resort to eating human flesh.
Had the underskin portion of a squamous cell carcinoma on my cheek cut out just now. Laying here for about another half hour awaiting results. Sure hope doc got it all on his first dig. Assistant said I have a nice hole in my face until they know if there’s more cutting to do. Stitches when they’re finished.
Had a 2 inch cut in my left shoulder a month ago to remove a melanoma. That was my first cauterization where I was awake and able to savor the cooking of my flesh.
No big deal. Just odd hearing your body being sliced and diced. That and the lovely odor of flesh cooking.
This shit sucks because I love the sun. Gonna be tough to avoid it. All those years of playing ball, riding motorcycles, and hanging out at the beach coming back to haunt me.

Well this is better than reading about Roux's crimson urination sessions...
Best wishes Sam, get better.

Glad you're getting taken care of, Sam. Yes, it sucks now. But it would suck even more if you delayed treatment.

Leave carcinomas alone, imo. They're "good" skin cancer. Means you've been getting the right amount of sun and they are not malignant. Melanoma is more serious.
I learned this from Midwestern Doctor, btw. He has a substack that's worth your time.

There is no good cancer.
Some cancers are not as bad as others, but that doesn't make them good.

Wow. A "good" skin cancer, and not malignant.
Your "doctor" must have gone to the RFK correspondence school of medicine or something. Maybe just treat it with some ivermectin and a trip to the tanning salon.
Squamous cell
Basal cell
Sure. Just the right amount of sunlight.
Those might look good on you. I'll pass.

I didn't need that. Words will do. One time in high school chem lab a girl partner handed me a hot piece of glass tubing and "branded" my hand. Not a good odor for sure.

That’s what you get for referring to her as a hot piece of ass.

HPG, even squamous cell carcinomas can metastasize and get to your lymph nodes. I ignored this one for two years. Glad I got it out.
I won’t post the pic of the opening doc created in my face. As I was listening to his stomach gurgling and him slicing my grill, I’d have never thought he was making as large a cavity as he did.
I’ll just tell people I got shanked while in prison for stealing windchimes from an illegal alien drag queen.

I had a basal cell carcinoma removed from my forehead last year. It was pretty small but they cut several times, pretty deep, and got each analyzed before continuing, to make sure they got the whole thing. Seriously looked like I had been shot when she got done but she was also very skilled at repairing the wound and you can’t even see it now.
I think they call it a mohs procedure.

Yep. Named for the doc who came up with it.
I was ecstatic my doc got it all in one shot.

Hmmm. Got diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma on my right cheek last week. Serves me right growing up in SoCal spending long hours surfing and just hanging at the beach. Then moving to AZ and golfing 3X weekly sporting the year round tan.
Thursday I go for the consultation for the MOH's. A golf buddy related that story of burning flesh. I might pre-medicate on surgery day with my opiates and hope for 1 round of digging.

I think posters who are familiar with my rants are good with the prison shanking line.

Just hope they get it all on the first dig. The cauterizing gets old quickly. Not much bothers me and I turn down all pain meds, but that smell…
I was surprised by the size of the hole he cut in my cheek for such a tiny affected area. Weird, but getting it all in one swoop was good…I guess.

DC Smackmaster and his skin tags paved the way for this thread. He was way ahead of his time.
Also, y’all are a bunch of old dudes.

I hope IB isn’t offended by that metaphor.
BTW, DC was ahead of his time in a lot of ways.

Frightened a small child in a restaurant yesterday with my huge patch. She was seated behind me and crying, so I turned to her, trying to make her laugh, but I’d forgotten my monster bandage. She freaked out. Bandages come off later today.

I go under the knife on right cheek March 18. Physician is a ringer for Zelenskyy. I'll let you know how it goes.

I had a great doc do mine, Seer. I’m sure you have a highly qualified one as well.
I removed the bandages earlier today. Looks rough, but it’ll buff out.
Might go back and get left cheek done to match.

Mine was on the left side of my forehead. My surgeon was able to make the incision line up with the other lines that were already there. She also observed that my left eyebrow was already a little lower than my right so she pulled it up a little. Didn't charge any extra for that.
