Weekend Roll Call 5-20-23

Post by kcdave »

Not my vid, but this is from Monday nights show.

I have been a big UKJ for over 30 years. Never got
to see them back in the day, so this was a bucket lister.
Whit is still one of the coolest dudes around and they
put on a helluva good show.
But, I gotta admit .... my age is starting to get the best
of me at concerts. My schedule being the primary
culprit with typical 3am wake ups just does not bode well
for concerts that don't end until nearly midnight and
then a 40 minute ride home. We have tix for GnR in
late September and as I told Vaghub the other night,
that may well be my last one, unless ACDC makes a
return, Metallica for sure, or the Pearl Jam show that
always avoids KC. We need some old man friendly shows
that are over by 7pm.

FOC will be getting a top 5 weather day of the year today.
70, low humidity, bright blue skies and a nice northly breeze.
Tune in this time next weekend to see my bitching about
the heat and humidity that will be settling in for the next
120 days or so.

Another 14 hour ballbuster of a day on tap.....

Happy Weekend, Y'all.

Happy Saturday morning, good to see the rc thread.

80 degrees f here today, all yard work finished, so working on killing off some obnoxious weeds in the back lot area.

Goat's head, or puncture weed. Fukking hell nasty, and hard to get rid of.

Beef and chicken bbq k-bobs from the local meat market plus the heater's most awesome potato salad tonight. Add in a bit of indica I found called Zelato.

Woo woo

Up early. Walked dog, then headed over to tie up some loose ends on house we’re selling. Finished cutting yard. Weedeated the hill. It’s becoming snakier every day. Azaleas have gotten so big there’s more room for snakes to hide under them. Sweat pouring down my goggles, I just keep that weedeater throttled up and tough luck if a snake pops up.

Gonna wash and wax the little lady’s car, then head to a new joint to try their wings and burgers.

Oh…the Celtics suck.

I've heard it can be made into a decent soup. May sound better than it tastes, though.

Yesterday I pruned these manzanitas up so you can see branches. It doesn’t come through too well in the picture but the wood is very gnarly and almost red. Before, the foliage was growing all the way to the ground and you couldn’t see any of it. I also put 12 small 1 gallon shrubs in the ground on the back bank. Working on that steep bank makes everything about 3x harder than on flat ground. Too bad I don’t have much flat ground.

If you ever need to dig a bunch of holes for one gallon plants - this can be a life saver. Especially if you’re working in DG.

Just got back from my weekly trip to the farmers market. Gonna take the afternoon off and rest my weary bones.

Saturday was bonus daughter’s soccer match followed by bonus son’s doubleheader in baseball. It was the dad’s weekend so we cutout early and met my parents at the Astros game for my little one’s first time experience. Today is yard work and chill.
