Patrick Ewing rolls in to MSG (for a game, but not a Knick game) and assumes he will just walk by security.
But NO!

He is asked to show his ID, and then he after the game he vents to the media...

"This is MY building.
I was accosted.
Everybody in this building should know who the hell I am.
Is my number in the rafters or what?
"

We're in a pandemic and everyone is wearing a mask.
You retired 20 years ago.
You never brought a championship to the people of NY.
Madison Square Garden isn't your freaking building, dude.
Nobody gives a shit.
Show your iD and move along, jackoff.

I got carded for alcohol the other day. Seems like reasonable request.

At least he didn’t go to the “why a balck man gotta show his ID” card.

BTW, as with many of us, age has changed his looks a bit. If I walked past him, I’d just think “that’s one tall brotha”. Wouldn’t recognize him.

And yeah, he never did quite get it done, but I don’t blame him. Never really had a whole lotta help.

He used to give Shaq fits with that little 10 ft baseline jumper. Poor Shaq’s range was how ever far he could dunk from.

Maybe he should have worn his old uni.
The one with the really short shorts.

Patrick Ewing is the best player the Knicks have had ever. Rent a Cop probably should have known who he was. But Knick ownership and management have built so many great teams since he left? Most memorable guy was a 6-foot even Asian guy from Harvard who had about two months of decent play? Yeah everybody in that organization should be getting a Patrick Ewing basketball card right about now. What a joke that organization is.

Charles Oakley, John Starks, Allan Houston, Mark Jackson, Derek Harper, Latrell Sprewell, Larry Johnson, Marcus Camby... I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

Gerald Wilkins, Kiki Wandeweghe, Xavier McDaniel, Doc Rivers

Was also coached by Pat Riley for 4 seasons in the prime of his career.

Patrick Ewing was an excellent player -- and was very consistent.

He just isn't king daddy shit of Madison Square Garden.

But did he have enough of them at once to finish?

Pat's worst nightmare... hell, he was everyone's worse nightmare.

The Rockets with (The Dream) were the only team in the NBA with a winning record against MJ and the Bulls. Dream OWNED Jordan. Hell, he owned everyone.

Yeah, he stacked trophies like cordwood......when Michael got bored and went to play baseball.

He may have had a winning record against the Bulls, but I doubt he did against the bulls with Michael in the lineup. And even if he did, he never won a title in a season Michael played.

He's still an all-time NBA great, but nobody "owned" Michael..... well other than a collection of slow white boys, during his early days before he could assemble a supporting cast.

Dream and MJ squared off 23 times and Dream won 13 of the games.

Also, MJ came back at mid-season in the '94-'95 season.
The Bulls made the playoffs and lost to Orlando.
Houston (Dream) won the NBA Championship by sweeping Orlando in the finals.
