Imagine if Columbus and the others stayed home. The "Indigenous People" would be living in tents and killing and enslaving each other. What a life.

You’re right. And she’s been dead for 25 years. You’re even more of a perverted freak than we thought.

I never really gave Columbus statues or any other statues much thought...till some asshole came along and kicked one over, because western civilization is evil.

Fukk off.

Western or any other civilization isn’t perfect, but, it is the civilization responsible for eventually stomping out slavery and promoting the concept of things like religious and political freedom and private property rights.

Without western civ, you’d be living under the thumb of some ruthless asshole. This is not debatable by anyone with the slightest bit of honesty.

What a POS

If your family was beat down and killed, you’re all in favor of a statue commemorating them cuz they built a library???!!!!!

FUCK YOU!

Sounds like you’re good with any means, so long as it justifies the end. Got fukkkah.

My family and yours, along with every other family at one point or another through history has been beat down and killed or beat down and killed others.

It is sort of how we roll as a species.

Care to name me a society that didn't?

Hindus have a pretty good rep as being very peaceful, but corruption runs rampant there as it does most everywhere.

We certainly aren't perfect, which is pretty much the point.

Man has a tendency to be a dick, when he has power over others. This eternal truf is WHY socialism has a tendency to suck.

You need examples?

The 20th century was chock full of them.

You can find positive aspects in it. The whites brought muskets and tomahawks, horses and wheat, and then the telegraph and railways. Now the Indians could get rid of hunger by hunting for buffalo, catching fish with nets. could wear cloth clothes and light bonfires with flint chairs. But as you can see, the epidemics of European diseases and rampant alcoholism engraved in the memory more strongly. We must not forget, however, about the white victims: many thousands killed, cruelly tortured, raped, slaves of settlers, whose sweat and blood moved the American frontier.

DiSantare -- Italian/latin? If so, that would be a hell of a stealth commentary on American white supremacy, and the myth of the melting pot.

But it probably isn't and I expect too much from trolls.

Let it play out, Diego, for a little while at least.
