Even before the internet Bill Watterson also found it almost impossible to keep his Calvin and Hobbes characters from being plagerized and sold for ads and merchandise. Can only imagine how bad that is now with the internet.

Also, on the flip side, he's going to make a shit ton of money. Story doesn't really mention that part, unfortunately. I'm actually surprised Watterson has been able to hold out this whole time.

I hope he gets paid as well. No one should be bootlegging his art without giving him a cut. However, there's a difference between fan sites and sites making money off his IP.

Best cartoonist ever. Whenever I would pick up one of his books of cartoon compilations, I wouldn't put it down till I looked at every one.

This is the same direction that Berkeley Breathed went with "Bloom County", my favorite strip. Health issues have seemingly caught up with him though, so I don't believe he's still creating it. Too bad. Hope Larson goes on for a long time, TFS rules.
