A lot of 4 and 5 star players don't pan out in the meatgrinder that's BTPCF.

A lot of 3 star players turn out to be better than expected, especially after they grow 2 or 3 inches and add 40 lb between the ages of 18 and 21.

Just sayin'.

That being said, Stanford may have the best linebacking group and best backfield in the Pac 12. The backs may be one of the top groups in the country. The line is solid if a lacking depth.

SU will probably be giving up over 30 points a game. They're hoping they can score 40 points a game.

If they can crack the top 120 in total D, then they're better than last year.

Greg Schiano claims OSU's d-line is better than Tampa Bay's. I'm probably a tad skeptical of that.

Schiano is still ass-hurt over his debacle here as head coach...the Bucs have had several bad hires at HC over the years, this was one of the top 3 worst. Gerald McCoy, Michael Bennet, Adrian Clayborn were on that line. I'm sure the college kids he has now would carry the load much better :meds: . Fuck him.

Hopefully a first term abortion compared to last year's partial birth abortion.

Somewhere between the worst defense in college football and Alabama.

UCLA is the new LB U. Very good starting D but not much depth. Mora will find a way to choke off a decent season and I know better than to have anything more than tepid expectations for the season.

In the last 4 years, you've recruited 89 players. Shut the fuck up.

Hey Goobs. Hopefully ND will have an actual coach by that time.

If you gave me 6,000 lifetimes with my only objective being to come back with a single reason why I should feel sorry for USC and their "depth" concerns, I'd say just go ahead and kill me now. You wouldn't know depth issues if Jerry Sandusky personally buttfucked you in the mouth with them.

Michigan lost 10 starters from a very good defense. That said, the d-line will be very good again, the lb's will be athletic and fast, the main concern is the defensive backfield. Secondary coach, Mike Zordich seemed underwhelmed in his recent presser waiting for the light to go on for many of his guys. There is plenty of young talent but they need to think less and just read and react. I think we'll be stout against the run and short passing game. M will be susceptible to the homerun ball early while the kids figure it out on the field against live bullets. I don't worry with Don Brown at the helm, but opener vs. Florida will be telling.

Go Blue!

24.of which will be true freshman this fall.
Can you name a school where this isn't the case. Most schools recruit ~25 kids a year. You have a typical incoming Freshman class. Boo fucking hoo.
USC is still down 20 players who would be 4th or 5th year players from the sanctions. Take 20 upperclassmen off any team and depth will be an issue.
In 2 more years USC will be back at full strength
5th year, possibly considering that class was 12 kids. But 4th? Get the fuck out of here. Again, you had 89 kids sign in the last 4 years. FSU had 96, Clemson had 83, Ohio State had 96. Another couple of years? Give me a fucking break.

How many of those are starting on NFL rosters?

better than last year if they can stay healthy but probably not good enough @Ohio State and 1 or 2 of the other better teams on the schedule.

Texas will be much improved. The players are actually learning to tackle and play their positions. I think they will be the strong point of the team

They are at a disadvantage. They can no longer pay their players.

Stanford enrolled 13 recruits for 2017. Rarely as many as 20.

They've beaten SC three times in a row and you say they'll win by 20 on Saturday. How do you explain that?

Facts are USC broke the rules and was punished for it. That they still have depth issues (real or imagined) are their own doing.

USC didn't have a depth problem vs WMU, they had a coaching problem. They did not understand how to defend the read-option or counter plays, the latter of which is pretty basic stuff.
