Game Day: Week 4

Casual observations:

While Goobs says Wisconsin sucks, both the eyeballs and scoreboard say differently. MSU had no business being top 10.

Georgia is about who we thought they were.

I'm watching the start of the Boise State/Oregon State game... if you like watching good defenses battle it out... this game isn't for you. Both teams moving the ball at will.

Oregon should be able to take a knee on every PAT and still win in a blowout.

South Florida didn't belong on the same field as FSU.

On the other hand, if you like trick plays, they're flowing like wine so far.

I think there's a lot of players who don't understand what making the finger-to-the-lips "shush" gesture means. When I see someone do it in their home stadium, I want to punch them (and I've seen it multiple times this season, thankfully never from my team).

A month ago I thought Stanford was looking at a killer schedule in the first six weeks. SC and the Domers not looking all that impressive right now. UCLA is still TBD.

Washington too for that matter.

Also, fuck both the PAC and DirecTV. I'd rather watch Oregon - Colorado than sit through any of the other shit games that are on right now.

This actually made me check the date on this post to make sure somebody didn't bump it from last year. Too bad you need to actually score TDs in order to botch the call on the PATs.

Say what, Mike?

Although I didn't realize that the CU coaching staff reads this board, and took my suggestion to "run it up the gut every play" (in another thread) to heart.

Fuck, Oregon's defense is dismal. Offense is going to have to be clicking on all cylinders in every game.

BTW -- 128 FBS teams, and only 2 have racked up more penalty yards than Oregon this season (and almost all of those yards are from the pathetic D).

Rumors of CU's crappy backup QB were unfounded. Montez is killing it (then again, I could probably put up fat numbers if I was playing QB against Oregon... with my left hand).

Looks like Helfrich (he of the legendary Dan Hawkins coaching tree) isn't gonna gift-wrap this one the way he did for Nebraska. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to win the old fashioned way, by being a better football team.

I'm not familiar with that connection. I thought he started as a Koetter guy, then became a Charles Kelly guy.

Maybe Oregon's special teams coach should explain that you're not allowed to interfere with a guy catching a punt... since that's like the 50th time it's happened this season.

He was the Colorado OC under Hawk from '06-'08, although he probably shaved twice as many years off my life with his playcalling in that span. Please keep him.

Yeah, no way that kind of playcalling could take a team to the championship game.

So this is what getting blown out to a team not named Alabama feels like?

Props to the Fighting Goobers. MSU came out flat today, and everything that could've went wrong, did go wrong. Not taking anything away from Wisky, they were excellent in all phases and clearly the better team. And not just better today, but better period.

I don't know why Goobs was so down on Wisconsin. Perhaps sandbagging a little bit. I think they found their QB too. Maddening, the amount of 3rd and longs that guy completed with those soft floaters.

Because as we get older, we temper our expectations, to ease the pain when our team doesn't win the championship.

Although I agree, he's sandbagging. My view of Oregon's defense, however, isn't sandbagging -- it's really that bad.

You or I could've coached Chip's kids to the title game that year. Give him time. He'll make you hate him eventually.

Hell, I don't even hate Riley. Always a soft spot for the Oregon boys.

Looks like a scrappy bunch you've got there. CU better not take their foot off the gas like they did last week.

That team was pretty much loaded to the gills (not in a Brady Sarkisian way, though).

There are a lot of really good running backs in the PAC this year.

I don't know what they did to Montez in practice this week, but if they'd done it a week earlier, we could still be undefeated right now.

Dumb turnovers are Oregon's only "weapon" on defense. I'm starting to understand the "go for 2" mindset -- every time the opponent gets the ball, they're going to score 7, so O needs to score 8.

I assume we just lucked out. I missed the game as I was involved in a 3-way with Anique and Stanley, whilst we watched reruns of The Voice.

BTW, Stanley is a gazer.

30-6 isn't lucking out, bro.

Wisky is real deal.

Yeah, I was just joking. I didn't really do a 3-way with Anique and Pickle.

When Wisky went up 13-6 and then Sparty started driving back down the field, I assumed they would score. And I told my grandson not to worry, that this was a different Wisconsin team, and that they would fight back. When Musso ran the fumble back in for a TD, I felt pretty comfortable. I think we'll lose to Captain Khakis, but have a great chance against tOSU. For some reason we've had decent luck against them recently.

I always believed that Chryst would lead them back from the Andersen era. I expected it to take a little longer. I still think we lack depth, but I have high hopes.

I assume they will now lose their next 8 games..

Mike, may I present to you two options:

1) Go fucking fuck yourself with a fucking rusty railroad spike

2) Accept my congratulations, and enjoy your newfound return to relevance

Either way, you should thank Rob Mullens for hiring 2 complete fucking morons for coordinators.

Now go and win the South, fuckers.
