Going to see them in Greensboro, NC tomorrow night...

I know most of the people on this board hate them...but arguably 3 of the top musicians at their respective instruments (and being a drummer I'll make the case for Neal being the GOAT)...but can't wait to see them as this might be their last MAJOR tour as they are all long in the tooth...

anyway...review to follow on Friday...

Awesome, good for you. Haven't been very impressed with recent setlists, but what do I know?

I believe the are in northern VA on Saturday. Unfortunately they are playing the most exurban, inconvenient and morally repugnant venue in the area, so I will not be attending.

I'd pay $150 if they played the Verizon Center.

You're likely a bigger fan than I am, so I'm glad you like them. Imagine if they played with photos of Gobbles McTubesteak in the background, that would ruin your day.

Are you kidding? That would be perfect for when they do "Closer to the Heart".

Never was a huge fan either, but had their Fly By Night LP, and enjoyed 2112. Have fun.

Just saw them in Tampa this past Sunday.

It was incredible hearing some of the songs they haven't played in over 25 years.

I'm a huge fan and have not been satisfied with the setlist over the past few tours, but this show was beyond my expectation.

I doubt that's the least bit true, they have a gigantic track record and following. Easily one of the Top 10 best bands ever. 2112 is hard to dislike, an absolutely epic composition.

Interestingly, they had a good story on MLB network yesterday about how big of fan Randy "The Big Unit" Johnson was/is of Rush and Geddy Lee. The respect and admiration are mutual.

He's been to a couple of shows on this tour.

That may be stretching it a little. But...to each his own.
It's just a matter of opinion. I would definitely agree with War Wagon's opinion on this this.

HOLY SHITBALLS!!

What a show...they tore the fucking roof off of Greensboro Coliseum...

2112, Cygnus, Xanadu, Subdivisions, Anthem, Tom Sawyer...hell fucking yes...what a great show...

Neil fucking killed it
Alex was shredding
Geddy was well, Geddy

they just tore it up...period...

I am more inclined to agree with Wagon and Mucho as well...

if you get a chance to see them...go...you won't be disappointed...

Screwey just made the Baby Jesus cry.

He can't get away from the faggy shit tunes, even in a Rush thread.

That would be, no. Sure, they have some meh tunes, but still, wrong.

Maybe it's just the contralto singing them that makes them sound like faggy shit songs.

Eh, I get what your saying Goober, the castrato vocals can get annoying in large doses. But the songs and instrumentation are solid enough. Lyrics are always interesting, if a bit pompous. But overall, there are way worse groups out there.

I realize that all three are recognized as superior instrumentalists. They recognize that people either love them or hate them moreso that most any other band. I just wonder where they would be if they had found a lead singer with a more manly vocal range.

They're one of the world's biggest bands. I'm sure Alex and Neil aren't second guessing having Geddy as their lead singer.

You, on the other hand, are a pitifully pathetic sack of shit.

You wouldn't know a decent band if they were dropping their balls in your mouth.

I once read Bianca Jagger caught Mick & David Bowie in the sack. Never liked either much before, and certainly not after.....

You've apparently confused vocal range with physical appearance and lifestyle choices. Despite his somewhat effeminate appearance and his bisexual dalliances, Jagger has a decidedly lower voice. Not sure his that his particular style would work all that well with Rush. But perhaps less people would hate them.
