Even Chris Collinsworth can't ruin this.

You are fucking retarded. No player save MAYBE Aaron Smith mattered more to the Steelers in terms of wins over replacement. Even after 3 sub par injury filled seasons, pro football reference still compares his career to the best safties to play the game. He's an member of the last decade all decade team. And that decade didn't even include his defensive player of the year win. I know you're trolling, but you're the paste eating retard of trolling when you try to tell me a 5 time all pro was "pretty decent."

Great player.
Will probably make it into the Hall on the 1st ballot.

He was on 3 Super Bowl teams -- and his team won 2 of those.

He made big plays in big games.
Many of them.

You better believe he was a guy the opposing QB was very aware of.
A difference maker.

Blue chip.

The only potential knock is that he did miss quite a few games in his career.

Great player. It was easy to see he had a nose for the football when he was at USC. Only knock, should have been a Charger, instead they picked CB Sammy Davis, but would have been better off with Sammy Davis Jr. But....but...Sammy had a great combine! :meds:

Nice meltdown. But the point stands. He fell out of the best ever conversation.

Who said he was in the first place? I'd say he belongs in the hall regardless.

Ronnie Lott is the best ever. Troy and Ed Reed stand head and shoulders above everyone else from this era.

I did not intend to make a hair pun. Really.

not to sound like a homer, but nobody wanted to get hit by steve atwater.....probably laid more big hits on players than any other safety that played the game......

he single handedly ruined Christian Okoye's run as one of the most feared running backs.....

Safeties do get pretty short shrift from the Hall, though. The generally useless Penis King had a decent article on the topic.
