Why was the Bible written?

Post by poptart »

Through history, people have used the Words of the Bible to try to show many things and to further many agendas.

Jesus said...

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
John 5:39

And we should note John 20:31.

John 20:31
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

The Bible was written to point man to his salvation, and all of Scripture is speaking of Jesus Christ.
Man needs a Savior, and that Savior must be Jesus, Who is the Christ.

The most catastrophic event of the Bible (and of human history), which prompted the need for a Savior, is recorded in Genesis 3:1-6.
And the change in man is immediately seen in the rest of chapter 3.

Man went from being completely at peace within God's grace, and as a being who would rule and subdue his environment, to something completely opposite.
Upon separation from God, man immediately became nervous, fearful, and attempted to hide.
We tried to cover ourself, we blamed others, and God.

Right at this time, God promised the solution -- Genesis 3:15.

Having people understand this, is why the Bible exists.
