My favorite is 1984. . .
5150 is my next favorite.
I liked Sammy Hagar but David Lee Roth was better.

Women and Children First, VH I, Fair Warning and VH II. And in that order as well. Diver Down and 1984 were OK. Anything after that is absolute fucking rubbish.

Diver Down

1. "Where Have All the Good Times Gone?" (Ray Davies) - 3:04
2. "Hang 'Em High" - 3:28
3. "Cathedral" - 1:22
4. "Secrets" - 3:25
5. "Intruder" - 1:39
6. "Oh, Pretty Woman" (William Dees, Roy Orbison) - 2:55
7. "Dancing in the Street" (Marvin Gaye, Ivy Hunter, William Stevenson) - 3:45
8. "Little Guitars (Intro)" - 0:42
9. "Little Guitars" - 3:48
10. "Big Bad Bill" (Milton Ager, Jack Yellen) - 2:45
11. "The Full Bug" - 3:21
12. "Happy Trails" (Dale Evans) - 1:05

Of these songs, I'd say the only one that makes me cringe is Big Bad Bill. It is by no means prime VH material, but it is a damn sight better than any of the bubblegum crap Van Hagar put out.

And anyone who can listen to Intruder/Pretty Woman and rate anything Van Hagar did over it needs to check their ears for wax buildup.

1. Everything with Dave
2. Everything with Sam

I think that covers everything...at least everything that matters.

the better cover of "where have all the good times gone" is on Bowie's Pinups record.

VH self-titled is the only one worth listening to. unchained, cradle will rock are good singles.

i like that part of panama, kind of break: "i can see the heat coming off the road, push down the seat..." that pretty cool.

i'm not a VH guy.

Their debut is my favourite, but 1984 is a close second.

I'm with you. From start to finish, I love Van Halen I, but 1984 has some of my favorite songs but isn't quite as good of an album.

I hope that didn't come across as being optimistic, because it wasn't meant to be at all optimistic in any way, shape, or form.

Who is their lead singer right now? Is there really any talk of them doing anything new?

Frankly, I don't think they could do any better than their first few albums with DLR.
